Just a simple mechanical keyboard with MX Brown switches, nothing special also, don't think it specialized for any game.

It is actually quite a popular keyboard in Korea, especially for the newbie SC2 player.
Mostly because of how cheap it is for a mechanical keyboard (it's actually quite a bit cheaper in comparison to the razer BW Expert even).

Not specialized for any game yea, but it is a rather good all-rounder.
But when you consider some of the best SC/SC2 players are using it and owning everyone in it, at this level it is more on skill instead.
Again all boils down to the price, which I'm sure you'll pick it up once you see it either ways.

professional gamer like fruit dealer, they all prefer good quality kb, great performance, NKRO, very durable..that's all they need.
no need bling bling, or any macro keys. =)

I hate glossy sureface then sticky for fingerprint, looks oily and greasy.
Prefer nice friction plastic or rubber coat.

Haha I think Razer still better, the extreme one was Logitech, G15, G19, G110 and G510.
G510 the maximum, 18 macro button, and got multi-layer if i not mistaken, but i won't even use a single of it.

Anyway for some MMO player, it should be useful if can get use to it.

Actually what I means by SPECIAL feature is like the some Z-board or SS shift keyboard set. So not really understand the keyboard "Mechanics" will said as SC2 keyboard.

Here is a very detailed review of the black widow ultimate

http://geekhack.org/showwiki.php?title=Island:13224

I like the look; but shame it's 2kro doh.gif

QUOTE
And speaking of USB, that brings us to a very important point - the keyboard is NOT NKRO. And I don't mean not NKRO as in, because it's USB it can only to 6+4 keys. No. I mean, there are no diodes on the board, so key combos are blocked by the controller instead of by the USB protocol. So you will run into combinations that get blocked at only 2 keys, meaning this is just 2-key rollover. One such combination is Z+X+C, which screwed me up because I use those keys for both emulators and music games. Not that I couldn't find a new cluster of keys to use, but it's just something that I wouldn't want to have happen immediately after spending $130 on a keyboard.

One of the nicest things about it however is probably the lighting.

QUOTE
One of the cool things about backlighting with Cherry MX switches is that there's a little spot on the switch for an LED to sit. So just like the Decks and Xarmor, each individual key has it's own LED. For those who didn't know, rubber dome keyboards with backlighting have only about 6-10 LEDs around the perimeter of the board, and use a diffuser sheet to spread the light across the entire thing. Giving each key it's own individual LED results in brighter and more even backlighting.

Here what you see is a Deck Legend on the left and a Razer Blackwidow on the right. Razer used the same blue you'll find on any of their other keyboards or mice, while the Deck's LEDs have a slightly different hue to them - a little bit more towards the turquoise side. But they are identical in brightness.

Now, I don't know whether or not Razer's LEDs are rated for the same lifespan that the Deck's are, but even the cheapest ones last for several thousand hours. So I'm not too worried about their longevity.

Hitting Fn+F12 cycles through the backlight settings, which are as follows:
1 - Off
2 - Low
3 - Medium
4 - High
5 - Pulsing (gradual change from off to high, and then back to off)

That last one is mildly annoying and very distracting, and I can't imagine anyone actually using it.

The pulsing light ain't that bad on the BW Expert though, since the only decor LEDs on that one is the razer logo in front of the spacebar.

Then again, 2kro is the least of your worries. I'm getting a little annoyed by the necessity of wiping the keyboard at least once a week.

Sandblast the front cover and be done with that problem. It's pretty affordable too actually, getting a blackwidow expert and sandblasting it to get a poor man's filco.

Usually USB port will only support 6KRO. But with the USB ->PS2 converter should be NKRO.

Filco sells with NKRO and without NKRO. So when buying make sure your getting the one with the NKRO. It should be shown on the box doh.gif

Anyway for the Filco NKRO kb; you need to use a usb to ps2 adapter and plug it into a PS2 port on your motherboard in order for NKRO to work.

If you just use usb, then your stuck at 6KRO which is pretty decent for most things.

Even if your keyboard has NKRO but your motherboard doesn't have PS2 port then your stuck at 6kro. Some keyboard like some PLUM models have something called NKRO pro which lets you have NKRO over usb (without using PS2 at all). However Filco doesn't have this neat feature doh.gif

Only if you're utilizing them, if your APM is like 30 or 40... then forget aboout NKRO, it doesn't even matter.
If your typing speed is like 20 WPM, then again... forget about NKRO as well.
