morphological=more texture right?  really ka can b use with 5000series?
so i must update my CCC++ buy those game tittles u mentioned...

It's called MLAA, Morphological Anti-Aliasing. It's not "more texture or produce better texture". It's something to fix the jagged lines/edges. Try GOOGLE about Anti-Aliasing and read more about it.
So, it's usages are same as AA(Anti-Aliasing) but very light resources compared to generic/traditional AA. On top of that, it's very pretty as it makes the images more realistic with smooth edges.

For this kind of question,u can easily find the results from google or u can view the benchmark/article from anandtech.com as well as other websites.

This is because those games are benchmarking standard games.Games like Crysis r always used to benchmark something.Even if u ask us forumers,we can only say general point of view like..

"No lag la"
"Smooth performance!"
"Very nice graphic"

We cant give u professional views or any technical reviews.Mayb we can give u advice or something like tat.

To know the details, please read it here.
ATI 6000 series

Anyhow,to answer ur question, yes the graphic card is very nice considering it's cheap but the performance is almost up to ATI5850.

[WTA] 6850 vs 6870 in oc performance

MSI HD 6850

Gigabyte HD 6870

6850 achieved a 973Mhz and 6870 964Mhz...

Wanna ask why 6850 got so much oc potential of nearly 200Mhz increased, yet 6870 is like a lil bit low in oc only 64Mhz increase??

Btw the 2 cards differ by at least RM 150, is it worth to buy 6870 than 6850?why?

thanks sifu sifu~

Following up on previously leaked specifications, Chinese website eNet has filled in some missing information - notably TDP and TMU count. The TDP of GeForce GTX 580 is at 244W, slightly lower than the GeForce GTX 480. The texture fillrate had been viewed by many as one of the bottlenecks for GF100, and eNet reports that GF110 effectively doubles the TMU count to 128 TMUs. Apart from this substantial improvement in TMU, the GF110 is a "full revision" and fixed version of GF100.

The net result is a performance improvement of between 15%-20% over the GTX 480, while using less power. It must be noted that the GTX 480's 250W TDP figure was controversial as they reflected typical load power for gaming applications, whereas stress benchmarks like Furmark used close to 300W, and this is the reference AMD uses for TDP ratings. It is unclear whether the 244W figure refers to gaming load or absolute TDP in stress applications.

In addition to eNet's report, purported benchmarks for the GTX 580 has leaked on the Chinese enthusiast community.

The benchmarks show an average improvement of ~17% for the GTX 580 over the GTX 480. The maximum increase is in 3D Mark Vantage - ~35%, while the minimum increase is in Resident Evil 5 ~5%. Against the Radeon HD 5870, the GTX 580 wins comfortably by an average of ~45%. The gaps are massive (~2x) in tessellation oriented benchmarks, building on GTX 480's strengths, while the DX10 benchmarks narrow the gap considerably. Unfortunately, according to these benchmarks, the GTX 580 will end up slower than AMD's previous-gen Radeon HD 5970, on average, let alone AMD's upcoming flagship - Antilles / Radeon HD 6990. GTX 580 against Cayman / Radeon HD 6950/70 is the real battle here. Naturally, we would advise you to take any such leaks with a grain of salt.

The GTX 580 is set to release in one week's time, on November 8th/9th (depending on where you live), but the jury is still out on the extent of availability on release. While strong rumours suggest virtually no availability on launch, eNet insists that AIC partners will have GTX 580s on sale on November 9th. However, the quantity of cards for sale on November 9th is not mentioned.

that one use voltage tweak, not as stable
but most higher end amd cards are like dis oso, less oc headroom

to me, better get that 6850, can reach 6870 performance.
no point in buying 6870 with such a small headroom for oc.
its not that 6870 is bad, you can oc and still get more performance from it,
but 6850 simply better price to performance ratio

tldr;
6870 not worth, better wait 6950/6970

StoneGiant & Heaven r DX11 benchmark tools.
fermi r better @ tessellation compared to evergreen.

metro2033 is dx1 game which is heavy on tessellation.
Lost Planet 2, well....done by capcom which uses the engine which always run better on nvidia card.
but no worry, coz LP2 engine is far from capable enough to produce well over acceptable frame rate even on 5770 with max setting on dx11 mode, full hd.

Besides, Metro 2033 is more optimized on NVIDIA's shader configuration. It's not just tessellation. It scales well with NVIDIA SP, not core clock. e.g. GTX480 will be faster than GTX460 by 40% on the same clock due to 40% more SP.

It's simply because HD6870 and HD6850 is using the same exact chip, albeit different BIOS. The OC'abilty of the chip is the same. Both can reach ~930MHz, but since HD6870 is already clocked at 900MHz, the gain is not that much. To distinguish HD6850 and HD6870, they purposely clock the HD6850 at 775MHz. It's purely a marketing decision -- to release 2 SKUs to counter GTX460's 2 SKUs.

AMD could've released HD6850 at 900MHz SKU, but chooses not to, as it will kill HD6870. Just as NVIDIA, they could easily release 800MHz GTX460, but that will kill off GTX465 and GTX470.

Please post the GPU Folding temp if possible, or any game that can stress that thing to the max will be nice wink.gif
