just treat those reviews like a pinch of salt. for a kit lens, of course you cannot expect a zeiss or a 'G' outcome from it.

8tvt: Argh, typo - it was the 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC OS HSM.
I like the 17-70mm F2.8-4.0 EX DC OS HSM "Macro" because it focuses much closer, though! eddybeh: I don't have a car either. evilhomura89: The ghosting is motion blur as zstan shot the picture at a shutter speed of 1/5s. The colored streak is ambient light. The Sony 18-70mm F3.5-5.6 DT kit lens has one weakness - a tendency to get gear-stripping. However it is very resistant to flare, and pretty darn contrasty! |

haha must be extra careful with those model no.
sometimes confusing.. but Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM reaching Rm3k - pengsan! maybe for that range - tamron would be the suitable choice.. try to play with the kitlens.. if still cannot.. must make a move.. |

eddybeh: You'd have to lower the ambient exposure (low ISO, stop down aperture, faster shutter speed) while still using flash.

QUOTE(ieR @ Oct 25 2010, 07:08 PM) 1. joe, base on my experience, most lens has very good sweet spot at F8, but even let say diffraction happens at F8, honesly, unless u pixel peep, then only u will see the softness.. or u blow up a 50x80 inch photo. else, its nearly unnoticeable. u said u wan a UWA for landscape, but UWA has more distortion issue far worst then a mere diffraction that's not as noticeable then distortion. dont read too much review and get urself confuse. get one camera and shoot, and u will learn that u have much much more other thing to worry about then a mere diffraction or softness. if u wan me to poison u with more review, go read barrel distortion and pin cushion distortion... that way, u will never end up buying any lens because there is no perfect lens btw diffraction usually happen after really high aperture, like F16 onwards... some starts only at F22. but i cant imagine those macro shooter that shoot at f16, their photo are sharper then ever! Agree, no perfert lens indeed but I have some ideas what I need but my vitamin M is low. QUOTE 2. just when u go the a shop to buy, ask for the newest sigma, or pay downpayment and ask them to order u the lastest one. reject it if it doesnt has that sticker. Wahhh..this is good. But i still have to wait until next month!!! Errr...24 months don't have ah? Thanks!! can use creditcard what, 12 month installment |
