I apply Cash One loan at Standard Chartered last thursday. In positive thinking, i may get platinum card should it is approved. Unfortunately, during lunch hour on the same day, the lady told me that my application is rejected. She has invited me to apply platinum credit card. I'm not so confidence to apply platinum card and i just give her a copy of my CIMB Gold card (using more than 2 years). I have one platinum card from other bank but yet 1 year. Just now check with customer service and he said that my card approved. Then I ask the limit and is that platinum card? But funny thing he said that he only can check whether approved or not. Guys, they makes me guess all night le..

Because zero-annual-fee cards are too abundant that they have lost their exclusiveness.
Other people don't bother to look at your zero-annual-fee card because it is too cheap.

I dont think so. My 1st card was CIMB Petronas Card. the green one and no annual fee. I use it for check in at concorde hotel. the lady quite impressed and say "wow, cantiknya card." I just smile at her. But that card never get fraud.

Talking about the card design, I wonder there is any copyright for card design or not. For example, a You:nique card that copy the design of a VI card. hmm.gif

HSBC users here, pls share ur experience with current promo - SMS & WIN?
http://www.hsbc.com.my/1/2/personal-bankin...c=MYH_LP_SMSWIN

yesterday, (of coz swipe >rm100), swipe then SMS at 20:03 and received reply "overhelming responses. closed for the day. pls join tomorrow!"  sad.gif

then, today, again, swipe then SMS at 15:58, same reply! doh.gif

so many HSBC user that swipe >rm100 before 4pm???

will try again tomorrow around 11am and let see if still overhelming  sweat.gif
Have not tried it myself ... Had this kind of thought that all HSBC promotions are useless and i just did not bother to participate in it but all this changed when i found out i got RM139.85 cash back from their previous promotion last week. Anyway, HSBC has many big ballers using their credit card. I guess you stand a better chance of winning if you send in the sms in the morning.

Materials used to make the Standard Chartered Priority Banking VISA Infinite are kind of cheap just like HSBC Premier MasterCard. Everything printed/embossed on the card will start to fade away just after 1 year of usage. It is very prone to wear and tear too doh.gif

His RHB Bank VISA debit card is not stupid actually. Assume he can get the annual fee waived or can actually meet their requirement for auto annual fee waiver which is to sign up for auto-debit or to charge at least RM5,000 into the card in a calender year, it is easily the best debit card in Malaysia due to the fee-free cash withdrawals at all local banks ATM thumbup.gif

I believe you can actually request for the replacement card fee to be waived smile.gif

Cash One Loan, isn't the interest high and interest charged just like Personal Loan (non reducing). You should be thankful to the application department for rejecting your Cash One application.

As for the card, how come they cannot check CL when it is already approved? They should also be able to tell you if it is a Plat card or not. Call them again and ask.

good idea, gave me idea on how to get imitation AMEX Black Card. That would make me really cheap, haha

Me got no CIMB account. Now starting to collect Debit Cards, so far got 4 Debit Cards already.

Wah you do swipe a lot until both DA and HSBC cards got problems. But you are right, my previous HSBC Plat and DA Plat card also "broke" near the magnetic strip.

Haha, all cards are stupid since they can't do anything by itself, but then again maybe I am the stupid one since did not read the T&C before signing up doh.gif . Got the RHB debit card because want to skip q to get to teller, and RHB charging me for this! The card only gives cash back 0.5% for transactions, however it does give 4X access to KLIA, LCCT and Senai Lounges. Alliance Plat Debit Card with 2% cashback which is technically free is much better in my opinion.

Having said above, I have yet to use any of my Debit Cards for transactions but mainly to withdraw emergency cash.

Now itchy want to get RHB Plat CC. They getting me the PB application form for Plat Card as was informed that the normal form for Plat card no auto annual fee waiver.

Just in case you also have to replace your HSBC VISA Platinum, they can waive the replacement card fee for you right away without needing you to pay in advance.

Do you know if you get the normal ATM card instead, are you still going to get unlimited fee-free cash withdrawals at other local banks ATM ? And are you going to get the same high withdrawal limit per day which is RM10,000 with the RHB PB VISA debit card ?

My 4 Debit Cards issued from Alliance, RHB & UOB and a new HLB ATM card, so free withdrawal not really a concern. Moreover my Debit Cards all link to Savings Account where got less than RM1K most of the time so don't need high withdrawal limit. Never carried an ATM card for more than 10 years until last year got my first Debit Card link to SA. Last week got myself HLB PB ATM card (because they don't have Premier Debit Card) as need to open internet account for my children HLB Junior Debit Card doh.gif Now no longer need wait in q for teller anymore at HLB branches.

Which particular RHB debit card gives fee waiver for auto-debit/minimum 5k, or no-fee other-banks ATM withdrawals? It's not mentioned in any of the fees and charges section.

It should be noted that the charge for foreign transaction using HSBC MasterCard is pretty high ...

Probably it's time to get a Maybank credit card ...

The RHB Bank Premier Banking VISA debit card. You can get it by deposit RM200,000 in your RHB Bank account smile.gif

By the way, the first year annual fee is waived.

DA replacement card can be waived at the point you requested for it.
I changed multiple times due to the lousy chip on their Mastercard. All free including courier...

What date was the transaction ?
My OCBC Ti Mastercard transaction also around the same rate of ~2.45 (+/-) for the week of 7-14 Nov in Singapore

Maybank Visa was cheaper by a bit around ~2.42 (+/-)

This should be about right. This is the rate quoted by VISA International in their website.
