Which better for beginner
Tama Imperialstar or Pearl Forum
And what recommended cymbal for beginner

I would say the Imperialstar is better, and you could try going with Sabian B8s, Zildjian ZBTs, Paiste PST3s, or something along those lines. I don't recommend brass cymbals.

I'm currently using the Pearl Forum and I have played on the Imperialstar 5 pcs. I'd really recommend the Tama if you compare this two kits.

For cymbals, yeah stay away from brass cymbals. As they are really heavy and would make alot of noise that you wouldn't enjoy. (well for me, at least)

Brass is light compared to the rest I'd say, my HHXs are really heavy (B20). Brass cymbals are okay for marching bands (sometimes) but yes, the noise is utterly off. I've yet to play a brass cymbal I've liked.
