Added on tongue.gif tongue.gif Some personal recommendation by astria for 14" laptops

QUOTE(astria @ time unknown)
Gaming : 1) Asus N43Jq/Asus A42Ja, 2) Acer Aspire TimelineX 4820TG, 3)Acer Aspire 4741G

- Best GPU u can find for a 14", so it's down to personal preference of brands and warranty. By Gaming I dun mean playing at highest settings on the latest blockbuster games, rather, laptops in this category allows u to play at higher detail than others, expect mid-high in most cases. The list has been totally revamped thanks to GeForce 400M series. You can't go wrong with either of these.

CULV : 1) Acer Aspire TimelineX 4820TG, 2) Asus U45Jc/U43Jc

- "4820TG again?" u may ask. yes, 8hrs of battery life on vanilla Core i is juz unbeatable, couple with a decent GPU, it's an obvious choice.

Value : 1) Fujitsu LH520, 2) Lenovo G465/Compaq CQ42-205AU, 3) Acer Aspire 4551/Asus A42F

- LH520 top the list for a simple reason, having dedicated graphic card @ rm1.5k, no others can match that. G465 and CQ42 are tied as both have CPU at the same clock speed, both are decent choice, but pick CQ42 if u are concerned abt battery life.

Work : 1) Asus X42Jr/Dell Studio 14, 2) Acer Aspire TimelineX 4820TG

- this is for those who are looking for a machine to do work like Photoshop, but still prefer 14", without breaking their wallet. X42Jr and Studio 14 come with quad core, no question on performance. TimelineX 4820TG (again!) is in the list as well as it's a light machine with great battery life, ideal for those who needs to move around often.

but since it using Sony's limited driver.. so it still underclock.

by the way,, Sony Vaio isnt mean for gaming ... ,
it is underclock to make the laptop produce less heat..

last time people said acer is not reliable..

but believe me... Acer is a reliable brand... , and it is currently no.1 in Malaysia...
and the laptop build is better now.....dont worry.. just go for it..

i readily second wat kae7 had said...my fren's acer had been running on 5 years...6-7 hrs per day..daily...and its still fine...b'cos his are from the older acer generation, there is some heating problem, BUT is easily settled with a RM 10.00 cooler pad..

the new ones DEFNITELY and more reliable and have less likelihood of heating problem.. smile.gif

sometime.. overheat isnt because of the processor itself.. it is caused by laptop itself.. if the cooling system isnt good.. and you play intensive games.. then... it will overheat..

1. Brand - Any
2. Budget - 2-3k
3. Specs - I need it for designing purposes and gaming. Must not be laggy.
4. Size - 15".

Looking for a stylish design labtop. Best if it's light enough for me to carry around cause i will be carrying it around almost 24/7 when i'm out.

Thinking of Macbook Pro but its somehow pricey seeing the specs is not really good.
