15 inch = heavy. 3kg, i dno if its heavy for you.

wat is light enough? 14 inch is 2.4kg 13 inch is 1.8kg.

unless u r willing to pay more, etc. MBP, HP envy 15, vaio Z, adamo. which are shooting away from your budget.

so if u want light, then u need to sacrifice screensize.

designing purpose and gaming, how to define? mind sharing the games and software you are using? they can vary alot.

stylish = vaio or mbp? only low spec vaios at rm3k price tag...which will not suffice ur usage.

Are you posting a reply to my queries?  blink.gif
Hmm, it better be 14 or 15" cause i don't want the sreen to be too small. My defination of light is it should be portable enough because alot of my friends bought their labtop and just leave it at home because it's too heavy to carry around. That would be no point of getting a labtop for me since i already have a good desktop.

Only medium gaming not professional or heavy gaming. Softwares like photoshop, illustrator and stuff. The max i can afford is MBP 13-inch, 2.4GHz. I don't really fancy VAIO :/.

Thanks for your recommendation i will research more. wink.gif

What do you guys think about Acer 4820TG?
*
yes, his recommendation is for you, the best spec 15 incher under your budget.

MBP 13 is using old tech, dun buy it, it works like a rm2k laptop only.

i think, u might want to go and test and feel what size you want. as the weight differs quite alot although the screensize just 1 size smaller. 2.4kg to 3kg is not little.

timelineX 4820 suites u very well. actually it suites everyone. long battery life, exclusive finishing, best GPU under rm3k i think, for 14 inchers. you should really go for it. its the best selling cake in lowyat now. but its 14 inch la.

ya.......sxps wins in the screen.

but other than that...........you gotta really consider the battery life advantage, 2.5h compared to 8h? moreover 4820 offers more horsepower and lighter also!

8h is on idle la =p, if u stress photoshop, i think 3h+ compared to xps below 2h.

Well, 4820TG is also HD but not Full HD which one of SXPS features...like lee_what said, overall 4820TG sure is better than SXPS but then again, if you are concern about the resolution (as in you dun game much and more on multimedia works), a FHD would be nice, can get a bigger work space (view).

But do take note that 4820TG battery life is way better than SXPS, if you are the type to go out often with your laptop then maybe it would be a nicer choice but then again, if you stick the laptop where power outlet is always available then should be no problem nod.gif

So, conclusion :

Want overall performance = Acer 4820TG
Full HD and good warranty service = Dell SXPS 16 (bigger reso and screen also)

Then what's all the hoo haa about the Acer?
Hmmm.. which would you get lee?  whistling.gif

the hype is on its promising battery life over normal laptops. 3820 is more expensive because its smaller but having the same performance as a 14 incher. 1 inch extra really make big difference in performance tolerance. the bigger the chasis, the easier it is to field strong spec.

I'm not sure why Acer priced both 4741G and 4820TG at RM2599, 4820TG is better in everyway when compared to 4741G, unless the person is a Nvidia fan, who would buy the 4741G?  doh.gif

i think its because the nvidea chip is more expensive, consider the technology they put in the chip. the chip is expensive and shud be more powerful to justify its price, unfortunately the result came out is not on par as its spec yet.

buying a problem free laptop really use luck?
*
yes.....but the chance of being bad luck is very low and will not be determined by brand......maybe by class but definitely not brand.

by class i mean business class laptop which cost over rm5k for a low end laptop. but if u r bad luck, vaio Z will die by the 1st night too. so..... =)

@hanjin95 considering you have no idea whats a GPU and i5 i7 these IT terms, my wild guess is you don't need an overpowered laptop for daily usage? maybe you can list down your daily usages here....cuz rm4k is a big budget if you dun need a GPU. and you can go for models with more battery life aka 5820tg is a good choice =) 15 inches are 3kg tho...so if you buy an i7 with less than 2h battery life, u need another charger with you somemore. bad bad if you dun really need i7.

small tip: a rm2.5k might do ur job well ;D
