The Xperia feels like it was released just to satisfy top management that the company is competing in another OS segment.

It lacks the refinement in terms of OS and hardware implementation, and also lacks the commitment from the company to update the OS.

Personally I think even the acer offerings are better comparisons to the SGS than the xperia.

Try using a SGS and see how it compares for you.

you are welcome. how do you find the surface slickness? for me I find it easier to swype, cause while the surface is not matte, its not draggy like clear SP. really love it. best part is people think that there's no SP on it.. so clear wub.gif

Kinda happy with JM8 now, especially since the stock-kernel-with-voodoo is also native to JM8.

My pretty AMOLED broke. Dunno how it happened, maybe bumped it while it was in my pocket. The Gorilla glass in front is scratchless, nothing happened to it, but the LCD behind is broken.

Any chance of getting it repaired in warranty, else anyone knows roughly how much it will cost me?

So fragile... first time a screen broken for me. sad.gif

It was in my front pocket, not back pocket. Didn't sit on it sad.gif

I know that there is a possibility, but... I've had almost 10 touchscreen phones, some were even dropped onto the tar road, bounced down the stairs... and none broke! Finding it hard to accept that it is so fragile.

If its 600 bux I'm going back to a dumbphone. At least don't feel the pain even it it breaks.

No haven't seen the drop test video before.

Plus mine was wearing a silicone case all the time.

Very weird if you ask me.

It was in the house. I carry my phone with me all the time cos I hate it when I have to run out or back into the room when it rings or sms comes in.

Also, I work in the electronics industry, and know about industry standards for reliability, like you said, hot/cold cycle tests, and also drop tests, bend and shear tests. No way did I ever subject that phone to anything worse than my old phones, which were very badly treated I have to admit. And I don't think I ever exceeded the test stress levels.

sad.gif

Let me take a pic tonight and show you guys.

@hxcpride Yeah, gorilla glass still pristine.
