Hello Thread V!
Just saw my friend HTC Desire already comes with Froyo.. Feel Samsung is not doing enough for its customers....
Anyway I'm happy with JG4 on Voodoo magic...Don't think Froyo will bring any noticeable difference except maybe the flash on browser..

No GPS problem for me though.
My only complain is the laggy issue, though now is solved with Voodoo magic, but sometimes still it bugs me once a while. I guess this is SD card limitations compare to EEPROM.
However I can install tons of apps, tv out to play PS games, great screen display, superb customization options..
So far happy with it...

Battery life is awesome! I have animated wallpaper, Facebook and Twitter retrieving updates and feeds every 30 minutes, Hotmail sync every 1 hour, WhatsApp push messaging always available. By end of the day, I usually have 70% to 85% of remaining power. By any chance I have lots of SMS and phone call, the lowest I ever had is 60% after a day

I wrote this, I always keep myself connected to internet.

Are you sure?? How you do it man??

My battery consumption is roughly 1% per hour on standby mode. I m using launcherpro which sucks 2%, alarm gadgets sucks another 2% all the time on standby mode. My FW is JG4 on Voodoo fix.

WIFI and internet browsing sucks battery big time. But the winner of all is PapagoX5. One hour usage, 50-60% power gone...

just came in to report my battery status ........
usage: quite an amount of text, roughly 15% brightness, low amount of wifi <30mins, no games, alot typing on memo app. phone was mostly left idle

Unplugged for 4days 15hrs 51mins 42secs .... thumbup.gif

current status 6% ... roar!!
*
I think screen brightness settings does help saves battery. I remember at first I was using 42% brightness, then I change to 30% brightness, and I did notice a difference in battery life.... So does using 2G rather than 3G. hmm.gif

does this phone support HTML5 which will be use more n more often in future webpages
*
Download Dolphin HD browser. It supports HTML5.

Anyway, I don't see any use of HTML5 yet as it is still limited in the WWW.

The most useful now is flash support which only froyo can do that...

Hm.... 3gb im thinking hw u guys can use till 3gb I even hv problem surpassing the 600mb mark. Im on 1.5gb btw tongue.gif

I am on WIFI mostly. So I seldom surpass the 500MB plan that I am subscribed to. But I do use it for tethering sometimes, and when u tethering, you use alot of data. I tethered for 2 days and I used about 100MB of data, that includes downloading some music video files, and hate to say this but downloading with SGS actually faster than my streamyx 1MB plan. I then checked the speed and got about 3.6Mb/s of download speed but the ping rate is higher compare to streamyx. Still I can use it to play online games through my laptop and the experience is pretty smooth, not choppy as I expected. Of course, I need to be in the 'H' or '3G' zone to have that kind of experience.

I think Maxis design the higher MB plan for those who like to use their phone for tethering all the time in replacement of their home broadband. Because if normal users who use it to surf web using phone isn't using much data even though you are quite heavy users. And I am a heavy user who normally charge my phone at least twice a day. WIFI and browsing consumes battery fast.. flex.gif

yeah. I used it to connect to battenet to play starcraft2 online. No drop connection or lag throughout the 5+hours straight of online gameplay.. I download a 30MB of music videos in just under 5 mins. Quite impressive compare to my streamyx line.. icon_rolleyes.gif rclxms.gif
