Added on October 4, 2010, 8:54 pmQUOTE(jasperchai @ Oct 4 2010, 08:52 PM) do android have PUSH app? really like to knw if it does have auto notification for incoming mail, facebook... Not true push, it actually connects periodically to these feed servers. This post has been edited by MYstombox: Oct 4 2010, 08:54 PM

Moving back to UGJG8, I find the experience much better than JPH.
I can log on to networks instantly. But weird thing is this fw doesn't have 2g-3g switching.
always on UMTS, but my battery can last me 1 full day - 7.30am to 10pm with wifi on, and constant surfing, checking email and calling/sms.

QUOTE(chewlee @ Oct 7 2010, 05:18 PM) I had done a lot of changes to my sgs, but i insist not to root it as the risk is too high. Can u imagine the risk of somebody hack into your sgs and remote access to your camera. Not possible? think again... Unlikely, you need to grant it superuser access anyway.

Let me post reasons why I want to have root access. The Xperia feels like it was released just to satisfy top management that the company is competing in another OS segment.
It lacks the refinement in terms of OS and hardware implementation, and also lacks the commitment from the company to update the OS.
Personally I think even the acer offerings are better comparisons to the SGS than the xperia.
Try using a SGS and see how it compares for you.

QUOTE(silentser @ Oct 11 2010, 12:28 PM) my cheap nokia handphone screen breake like that when i sit on it, dont think warranty will cover it though, the cost will probably be the same as you buy a new phone I read in tread 1 or 2 that service center replaces screens for 600.

Currently I am at 87% Unplugged for 6h 54min xx seconds Voice call 9min 5sec Display 32min 15sec Cell standby 6h 54min xx sec Wifi on 6h 54min xx sec

quackpack -> it is very slow.
I have yet to try this combination.
Restore apps using appbrain -> install all (no need to click 1 by 1 install)
Then use titanium backup to restore app data.

If you find it difficult to place the cursor for typing.
Try this in swype: Swype from (i) to SYM
Meaning the option/info button to symbol, and up comes the D pad in swype.

QUOTE(pleasuresaurus @ Oct 20 2010, 04:21 PM) Thx guys for the quick inputs! I've come across those charger/fm transmitter combos online but so far haven't found any in MY, which is kinda odd. Is there something I can use with a standard/generic mount which works with different phones? Reuben: my car stereo doesn't have a female input hole for the audio jack, and no tape deck either (otherwise can use a tape-based solution). Only got CD deck. Hmmm...am I sh*t out of luck? Added on October 20, 2010, 4:23 pmya bro, was srsly considering N8. but....aiseh man, Galaxy S is so keng. kmrdeva: bro, the FM Transmitter with USB port looks promising! Will start hunting for it here. Go to computer accessory shops. Get the USB version, mount ur SGS as portable device. So you save some battery juice if it isn't charging.
