Help with what?
Samsung Star do have ad-hoc issue. But there are way to connect to the desired ad-hoc.Google for the solution.
I wouldn't say Sygic is crap. It's the map support that is crappy. It's outdated & there's no much detail on the map.
You have a point in saying phone functions are crap. But what really make want to stab Nokia execs is they can actually improved everything with another software update for Maemo 5.But as usual Nokia prefers to keep quiet on this part.
Somehow the Maemo community doing their best to keep this wonderful piece of device alive & kicking.I doubt any other OS community members willing to spend time to port a complete workable OS or extremely helpful functions like OTG for free.
Speaking of other phone,I guess Milestone 2 should arrive 1st.N9 & Pre 2 have pretty much the same issue, the OS.MeeGo beta should be coming out in 23 days.webOS still don't have any release date but there's already some screenshots of the working OS.My choice will still be the N9 because I have the soft spot for MeeGo since it's derived from Maemo.
But if Mozilla managed to drop a bomb by delivering the Mozilla Seabird then 1000% for sure I'll go for it.

Maemo is unique as it's Internet Tablet OS instead of the usual smartphone OS; So, there is very customizable "panaromic" Desktop which no ordinary smartphone Os have or seen, it brings the feels of having a desktop like our Windows. Then there's no restrictions like have to put the widget inside this box/area, etc. The widgets comes in all sort of sizes, and depending on the developer, the widgets can allow user to customize further, and we have the ultimate Queen Beacon widget, etc.
Honestly speaking, it's beyond smartphone OS level, as it's the closest thing to a real PC-like experience.
Look at the apps on Maemo, we have port of Google Chrome browser, can even install full Java and run Java applets.... there is also NetBeans for programming, PSFredom for hacking PS3, codecs, mplayer, etc. We're like talking totally different level from the usual smartphone OS level; well, after all, it's a tablet OS; The limitation is that the lack of RAM mainly... Would be great if it was really 1GB RAM instead of 256MB + 768MB (Virtual Memory).

On a side note, my bro's IP4 just freezed on him this afternoon. He googled and it seemed that iOS has memory issues while multi-tasking, resulting in freezes that require a full reboot.
And they say Symbian was bad with memory lol. At least my E71 only has 128MB ram only. iOS has half a gig pun freeze? Baik no multi-tasking at all.
I've experience iPod Touch lagging as well, have to restart.
Anyway, generally, the more sophisticated or complicated, the more things need to handle/take care. iOS generally is very simple, no homescreen (big problem gone), no widget (another big problem gone); It just have MENU and one godly button.

Thx a lot mate....successfully installed but haven put in rmvb files to test..
When playing rmvb files, if you're using SiB as front-end GUI, there is options in Settings of the player which you can select "Drop Frames"; It should play smoother, at least watchable.
