[attachmentid=1804907]
before attaching the Corsair GT 16GB USB Drive [attachmentid=1804911] after attaching the Corsair GT 16GB USB Drive [attachmentid=1804913] in FileBox, it just appears as Flash. the mmc1 is the MicroSD [attachmentid=1804914] in File Manager, it just appears as CORSAIR, since i labelled it that way. [attachmentid=1804950] in File Manager, with the volume label removed, it shows the true formatted capacity of the Corsair GT 16GB USB Drive. - all contents accessible using the built in File Manager as well as FileBox - can play most near HD quality videos smoothly from the Corsair GT 16GB & Corsair 4GB - left it connected for 20 minutes, no issues apart from battery drain - battery continues to discharge even after disconnecting USB Drive, be sure to reboot after testing. QUOTE(Andy214 @ Sep 28 2010, 10:12 AM) I'm interested in the above BOLD part; What do you mean? i just tested using default media player, it should be as fast as the internal eMMC or faster, since my Corsair GT has avg read speed 30MB/sIt's better performance than our internal flash and mmc1? You're using mplayer or default media player? |

QUOTE(Andy214 @ Sep 28 2010, 10:32 AM) internal eMMC and micro SD have noticeable difference in speed? I haven't really test in detail, but seems I didn't notice much cause sometimes I put movies in either one and output to TV. microSD comes in non-class verified, class 2, class 4, class 6 and class 10. micro SD also have various speed version, mine was class 4. the class stands for minimum write speed. some applications read and write data sequentially, while some dont. reading movies off a mem card is sequential. it does not necessarily mean good random read and write speeds. some of the newer memory cards, esp class 10 and above (yes, there are faster than class 10 cards, but not microSD) might read and write faster than the eMMC. eMMC is a cheap storage solution. when you use torrent app for example, and downloading large amounts of data at high speeds on your n900, you will saturate the bus and slow down the entire phone. QUOTE(Josh_M @ Sep 28 2010, 12:22 PM) too much noise dude... way too much... tips for a low noise photo when taking photos, not only with n900 and fCAM, with any camera. first rule is, use lowest ISO. then try to snap at an angle where most light enters the sensor. second rule, use flash to enhance the brightness of the subject. if really no choice, use higher aperture (lower F-Stop) and longer exposure (as much as your hands can handle without blur) if that does not help, increase the ISO. only some situations, need to use high ISO places that dont allow flash when you dont want the person photographing know you are photographing (stalker alert) when it is very dark, i mean really really dark when you are shooting shiny object that does not behave well with flash |

QUOTE(ShrugsLova @ Sep 28 2010, 04:23 PM) errr.... why dont i take the sim card out of the usb-broadband-modem and insert it into the n900 ? same results ma... Added on September 28, 2010, 5:22 pmanyway, the latest usb hostmode drivers only contain basic storage drivers for usb drives, portable hdd, cd/dvd filesystem and ntfs r/w capability in the latest versions. even keyboard does not work properly, someone tried it at tmo. (tmo - talk.maemo.org) still a long way to go. once the project is stable, they might add support for more devices, but seriously incorporating usb-broadband modem drivers does not make sense... did some modifications on the original Nokia Sans font.
removed a lot of the unneeded characters and symbols in it. (european accented characters) really slimmed down to smaller than 1/3 of the original fonts size (28kB - 34kB) should take up less resource , most standard english characters, numbers and symbols are there, ABC, abc, 123, !@#$%^&*()_-+=\/?'";:|[] try it, if you find some characters missing please tell me, i'll re-edit to insert the missing characters. (but its only an experiment, no custom jobs) |

QUOTE(BLABLAsheep @ Sep 30 2010, 07:04 AM) Anyone knows how to delete corrupted app? sudo gainroot (assuming you have installed rootsh)I installed plastic theme pack and I want to uninstall it. But half way uninstalling, it failed. It is still in the App Manager now but the theme is not usable. The App Manager keeps crashing "Internal error. App manager closed" while uninstalling now. Is there a way to use X-term or etc to manually remove it now? dpkg --remove packagename or dpkg --purge packagename |
