Sorry if this has been asked before, but regarding the free 1GB data right (for iValue 1 for example), for a first time subscriber, is there any activation required? Like do we need to wait for it to be activated? Or can we use it straightaway after walking out of the store?

I think no one is able to give u a firm answer right now. Some say yes, some say whole Malaysia only having 7000 units. Only Monday itself can tell you...

I am at the same scenario as you. I went back home after I got the number 43xx and went back home. Maxis does call me for "priority" arrangement on 26th Sept, before I hung up managed to vent my anger to the CSC, hohoho, I am too bad.

I have confirm with the guys at maxis, they will extend till midnite.

why dun u just go there n make frens wit a customer n tell dem u want it outright, and u can oni get it if ur attached to an ivalue plan. so tell dem u will pay him for the extra set.

Is it possible for me to use my existing BIS (Blackberry Internet Service) Data Package with the iPhone4. So I no need to change my plan, just buy the iPhone outright?

This is based on when they can finish doing it in the system. Usually they will do manually to clear the crowd first than later on key it in to the system.It depends on the consultant to be exact or best is 24hours just to be safe

My account of today... Registered for the 10am - 2pm slot and got there at about 10.15am. The queue was already very, very long, so I didn't bother to get into the queue. I asked their CS if I come back at about 1.30pm, would I get some priority before the 2pm-4pm. At first, the CS said outright no. So I argued a little bit with him and asked him what was the point of getting us to preregister a time slot when it seems to be a free for all. For all we know, some people in other slots were probably standing in queue. The CS apologized and said there was nothing he could do. Then I said (quite loudly so surrounding people could hear me) that Maxis' organization was poor and unprofessional and was about to walk away, when the CS asked for my number and told me he would call me later. I told him if I would be in Gardens till 2pm, then I will leave, and he assured me he would call me back.

So I had breakfast, did a bit of window shopping and was pleasantly surprised when the CS did call me back about 1pm - he told me the queue is more or less gone and I could come and get a number. When I got there, the number he gave me was 33xx, and they were now serving 308x or something. Still 200 over numbers to go. I asked him how long would the numbers take to move, and he told me about 2 hours - coz only about 30 or 40 counters are active at the moment... (Maxis staff either having lunch break or passed out due to the exhaustion)

Waited till about 2 plus and the number was 318x, another 120 numbers.. If the numbers moved at a number per minute I would have to wait another 2 hours. Decided not to. Walked out, found someone who was holding the number 35xx, and gave him my ticket.

Walked out of the event, went to a DiGi shop and signed up for MNP, and will now gladly wait, hahaha...

Quite sad to end my 8 years or so association with Maxis on that kind of note, but the DiGi plan made more sense to me (I sms more than I talk and to various networks...).. Also, I've always felt that Maxis seem to give more goodies to their Hotlink customers and not their postpaid customers, except if you're in their exclusive One Club - which I've never been invited to. Oh, well...
