The bottomline is whose name is the mobile line under. That name person has to be present. I am just sharing what i was told from the counter guy, the number giving person and the checklist paper giving person.
Please note certain type of Maxis users get preference (i think)

Maxis Elite - number starts from 1000
Maxis Select - 2000
Maxis normal or mass - 3000
Rest i don't know - there was like 2 other buttons.

You can definitely buy at least 1 iPhone if you go under contract or you can just buy outright as well. How many I didn't ask but i overhead 2 max.

Anyhow, when I was there, I managed to purchase outright units. If u buy it tagged to a prepaid number, you get 500mb free data p/month for 12 months. If u don't have the prepaid packs, ask d fella at the counter if u could buy 1; that'll entitle u to purchasing another unit.

Having said that, please exercise discretion when purchasing. Leave some for others to purchase (that's Y I only bought 2!)

Top 60 here too. I was at counter number 6, then they pulled me to counter 3." since it was empty.

Got back and I was pretty lucky. While the rest was busy trying to win prizes I just decided To stay at the entertainment corner, which happened to be right next to the registration hall entrance. Then suddenly all Everyone was crowding to get into the registration hall and I just moved quickly to the entrance.
To cut a long story short, I got to buy the iPhone 4 with the prepaid. It was actually really not allowed and I just have to thank the kind lady at the counter to be helpful. She did the right thing, in the end it was about making the customer happy.

As luck had it I even had the opportunity to be given the phone by one of the big shots. I hope my pic didn't come up. LOL! I want to keep a low profile, just in case someone else came up and challenged my purchase.

All in all I want to thank all those who have given precious info that has helped me to get my dream phone locally.-> stringfellow, tinkerbell, robin (even though last2 I ended up not cutting with you , the girl at the counter was kind enough to lend me the cutter.)
