QUOTE(attw @ Sep 25 2010, 12:17 AM)
My account of today... Registered for the 10am - 2pm slot and got there at about 10.15am. The queue was already very, very long, so I didn't bother to get into the queue. I asked their CS if I come back at about 1.30pm, would I get some priority before the 2pm-4pm. At first, the CS said outright no. So I argued a little bit with him and asked him what was the point of getting us to preregister a time slot when it seems to be a free for all. For all we know, some people in other slots were probably standing in queue. The CS apologized and said there was nothing he could do. Then I said (quite loudly so surrounding people could hear me) that Maxis' organization was poor and unprofessional and was about to walk away, when the CS asked for my number and told me he would call me later. I told him if I would be in Gardens till 2pm, then I will leave, and he assured me he would call me back.

So I had breakfast, did a bit of window shopping and was pleasantly surprised when the CS did call me back about 1pm - he told me the queue is more or less gone and I could come and get a number. When I got there, the number he gave me was 33xx, and they were now serving 308x or something. Still 200 over numbers to go. I asked him how long would the numbers take to move, and he told me about 2 hours - coz only about 30 or 40 counters are active at the moment... (Maxis staff either having lunch break or passed out due to the exhaustion)

Waited till about 2 plus and the number was 318x, another 120 numbers.. If the numbers moved at a number per minute I would have to wait another 2 hours. Decided not to. Walked out, found someone who was holding the number 35xx, and gave him my ticket.

Walked out of the event, went to a DiGi shop and signed up for MNP, and will now gladly wait, hahaha...

Quite sad to end my 8 years or so association with Maxis on that kind of note, but the DiGi plan made more sense to me (I sms more than I talk and to various networks...).. Also, I've always felt that Maxis seem to give more goodies to their Hotlink customers and not their postpaid customers, except if you're in their exclusive One Club - which I've never been invited to. Oh, well...

Good luck to those going for the event tomorrow! Cheers!

Yup, and today's events, or rather from yesterday coz I was following this thread with much interest, was the last straw.

Maxis may be good at marketing and creating a hype, but as evident here, they lack customer-focus - and some common sense in event management.

Yup - 24mths, no 12 mths, no non-contract purchase. Small price to pay if you see the tired and grumpy faces of the people in the maxis queues and compare with the happy shiny people walking out of DiGi stores this morning...

hye, just to clarify, i've booked for 1 iphone. but can i buy the second phone also with the plan. meaning, i'm not purchasing the 2nd phone outright. and my slot is at 2-6pm later, but can i go in the morning just to get the queue number? tq.

I was talking to the guy at the counter, and he said that my previous contract didn't even exist. I don't know if they are just too lazy to add another 12 months into my previous contract or what, but he gave me a brand new 12-month contract. I asked him 4 times if it was a brand new contract and he said yes.

I was expecting to be bound for about nearly 2 years, but I guess now I'm just bound for a year. thumbup.gif

If it's 10 AM, try to go at around 9 AM. Latest by 9:30. Get one of the earliest numbers so that you won't have to wait so long.

7 AM a little too early, no? tongue.gif

I doubt they'd ask her to leave, but just follow her to be safe. Is she a current Maxis subscriber?

Just talk to them nicely lah. tongue.gif I think that as long as you have 2 booking slips, you can make it work -- especially if that other person is in your own family.

But try talking to one of the customer representatives first, just to be safe. wink.gif

I think this Maxis hyped launch is pretty ridiculous. I mean, I dropped by the Digi shop right beside my bank where I was at on my lunch break (same day 24th today). There were like 4 people.

No one should go thru HOURS of queueing when you're paying top dollar for something premium. I mean unless they're giving like free cases for every phone purchased. Even then, I wouldnt queue for 6-8 hours... seriously what is this I don't even...

I bet they'll still have ample stock come Monday when it officially launches nationwide. Then it'll be fun to hear the thousands of people who attended the launch collectively groan "CURSES!!!" while looking at the sky.

hi guys .. i keep reading this post but i still dont understand how this things work...

Q: Installment plan? How?
A: The Visa/Master CR Card merchant is only for Citibank, HSBC, Public bank, Maybank and CIMB Bank on installment plans.

Example, If you purchase ip4 32GB on Ivalue 1 X 12 months contract = RM1990

Ivalue 1 : RM400 for 24 months and RM200 for 12months <--advance payment
ivalue 2 :RM620 for 24 months and RM200 for 12 months
ivalue 3 : RM1250 for 24 months and RM500 for 12 months
ivalue 4: RM2000 for 24 month, RM1000 for 12 months

This so called advance payment is either Swap your credit card which is not under installement plans, however there is a rebate RM40 X 5 months = RM200 which is credit back in your bill.
Basically the advanced payment will be credited equally over in 1st 5 months of your bill. [credit weileong]

can explain to me abit more clearly if i confirm buying iphone4 16gb with credit card ?

if i buy the phone on 12 month contract it will be RM100 x 12 + RM1,690 right , so total it will be rm2890.

then how the Ivalue 1 RM200 for 12months work?

and so if i go there i need to bring how much cash to buy the iphone4 + the contract ?
