@TS: can you please add this on 1st/2nd post too?

It's rather useful.

i dont need to be an existing postpaid user to purchase on 24th right? im using prepaid but i dont really understand this:
"Hotlink subscribers will be required to upgrade to a principal line in order to purchase an iPhone4 with an iValue plan."

meaning you need to change from prepaid to a postpaid user. And that postpaid a/c, you have to be the primary line holder, and tie to iValue contract.

so you need to be a postpaid user to purchase on 24th. After 27th, it's open nation wide.

In short this is what goes on:-

1. Queue outside (near the escalator above GSC Cinema / RedBox Gardens) - there is a person next to a number ticketing machine.
They will check whether you have the confirmation ID & cross ref with your IC. I assume if your name doesn't fit - you might not get in. (I am not confirmed - just assuming!)

2. After checking, you need to fill in a "iPhone 4 Collection Checklist". Someone does it for you. They ask what is your mobile no, name, ic, what plan, 16 or 32GB phone, do you have ic (if not you can use Credit card, driver's license).

3. When you are called in, you go into a small area between the outside and ballroom. I assume only 60 ppl are called in each time.

4. Guess you have to wait to be called into the main ballroom. I can't tell you cos I was the first batch and hardly any waiting. There are 60 counters and they are very friendly and helpful. I think you want to speed up the process - photocopy your ic and make sure you have your confirmation ID and checklist and number in hand or at least ready.

I asked the guy serving me - authorization letter is not accepted unless owner is present because the owner needs to sign contract! This is what the guy who served me said. Please be warned - I am telling what i know. happy.gif

I assume average half an hr per customer if no hiccups. He/She needs to enter details, go thru  the plan once again, swipe CC and check your phone - then out you go!

Thanks, Bontaku.

These are very informative tips! thumbup.gif

I know this guy, he's a Maxis One Club ELITE customer, which means his avg bill is in excess of 1k per month.
Elite customers were promised certain priviledges.
This guy called up the call centre trying to book an ip4, was told he can't do it over the phone and was asked to go to maxis centre to do the booking or buy the phone outright if there's stock available.
The next day he went all the way to maxis centre, the staff there refused to even take his booking and this time he was told to come back 2 weeks later to check if he can place his booking. Yes, we're not talking about buying the phone, Maxis won't let him place his booking!
The MC is TTDI.
I think it's so pathetic.
After going through the posts here, if this is some marketing strategy by Maxis, well..I've decided to get my ip4 in a more dignified way, afterall it's not an asset that'll appreciate in value over time.

hmmm... that's a very different exp from my friend.

He's also an Maxis Elite member. He was having a meeting in KLCC, drop by Maxis trying his luck, fill in the form, got his phone 2 hours later (or less, as he went to collect after meeting).

I think most likely is the branch CS...
