Continue from previous thread ...BTW, I thought locking is 2500 posts per thread (125 pages) ?

QUOTE(mhspeng @ Sep 21 2010, 06:37 PM)
ish.. i just called MAXIS..

and this time this CS.. is giving an answer different from the forum..

he said we CAN bring the authorization letter, without bringing our father there.. as long as there's a letter signed by our father and we have to get father's photocopied IC and MY photocopied IC.

but what he is making me mad is.. he said if i were to take iphone4 from maxis.. i cannot sign up for idata2 plan!

data plans are for phones not bought from maxis..

and in that case, i'll be forced to take ivalue1, which has 333 free "local" calls, and their meaning of LOCAL is maxis to maxis..

and that means.. if u want to maintain ur bill at RM100 with ivalue1, the only way is to ONLY call maxis ppl.. if u ever call, sms or mms NON-maxis user.. you'll be charged.
*
Maxis website says, if take iData2 or iData3 plan, must accompany with the Value Plan/Plus 50 or higher, for a 12-months contract.

@cute_boboi,

Yes.. i did mentioned to him that i want to take iValue50 + idata2, but he exclaimedddd CANNOT!!

so how?

oh dear.. makes me wondering really bringing authorization letter will work or not..

later.. he kept me stranded at the queue by saying sorry.. bring your father along pls..
*
Quoted from Maxis website:
QUOTE
Normal data tariff will be charged at 5 sen for every 10 KB.

*Valid only for:

Principal Lines:
  Value Plus Plan 50, 80, 150, 250, 500

Value Plan 50, 80, 150, 250, 500

  Supplementary Lines:
  Value Plus Family 30, 50

Family Plus 30, 50

Both iData2* and iData3* got this * sign. I think quite clear. Most likely CS is wrong.

Anyway, it is not iValue 50, but is Value Plus/Plan 50. tongue.gif I check my monthly billing and I'm currently on Value Plan 50.

I suggest if it is not you yourself, then don't waste time for the pre-launch. Wait few more days on next Mon. Else you will get more angry & frustrated at site, with each of the 50 people there, giving 50 different reasons.

Just to share, based on my existing Value Plan 50:

QUOTE
Monthly Charges
Value Plus 50 - Monthly Commitment 28/07/10-27/08/10 50.00 50.00

Value Added Services
Call Forwarding package 3.00
GPRS Service 99.00
Itemised Billing 5.00 107.00

Usage Charges
Domestic Charges
Calls x.xx
Data xx.xx

International Charges
Calls x.xx
Data x.xx

Roaming Charges
Calls x.xx
Data x.xx

Total: 2x.xx

Discount & Rebates
Call Forwarding Accessfee Waiver -3.00
Amount deducted from available Value Plus Talktime -2x.xx -2x.xx

Service Tax (5%)
Monthly Charges and Value Added Services x.xx x.xx
Total Line Charges 161.70
Based on my RM50 per month, I only used up RM20+ , which is inclusive of:
(i) Domestic Local calls to 012/016/019/03 (as in my itemised billing)
(ii) Domestic Data (SMS to 012 and other local operators, e.g. 016)
(iii) International Call (Call from 012 in MY to overseas)
(iv) International Data (SMS from MY to international)
(v) Roaming calls (Call from overseas to MY/overseas number)
(vi) Roaming data (SMS while roaming to MY)

Therefore, I'm not sure if it is the same with the iValue1, 2, 3, 4 plans for the iPhone 4 package ?

That is why for those who wants to use authorization letter, etc., frankly I would suggest you not to waste your time as in one of my earlier post. Just rest at home or go somewhere where else.

Even now, different maxis counter and CS give different answers. It will be the same at the launching, as I quoted earlier, 50 different person will give 50 different answers.

Some may come back later to brag about getting it with the authorization letter. Then I would say congratulations to you. Well done.

However, I bet there will be many more come back to throw tantrums in LYN forum about being treated like a kid, rubbish, etc.

My suggestion is, just wait till after 27th or for the owner/principal to come back and goto maxis counter with you.

Please do not assume that I do not wish you guys to fight the iPhone4 with me. It is just my pre-cog sympathy to you guys & girls, and wish not to waste your time there, getting angry and start raising voice/scold the CS, and the supervisor/manager will still give you the answer -> No.

Like someone mention, we have waited >3 months to launch in M'sia. Just wait another 1 week to sort out with your principal line owner/etc.

To add on, for those who are migrating from pre-paid to postpaid, and also those porting from other telco to maxis. Please sort out all of it, and confirm you got the postpaid SIM card and it is working in these few days (Wed/Thu/Fri). Otherwise, again, my frank suggestion is don't waste your time go to The Gardens launch event to do the porting, converting, running here and there to settle the bills, etc.

Again, I would congratulate those who is able to do all of it there.

And for others who would come back and rant here in LYN, there is nothing to rant about. It is simple. Make sure you are fully transfered to post-paid with a working sim, otherwise don't go. Wait next week for full launch.

called maxis, converting from prepaid to postpaid takes only less than 2 hours, so customer service advices prepaid user to convert to postpaid now or even a few hours before the event itself, no big harm, it can be done at the gardens maxis center
*
Yes, my kind suggestion to everyone is to ensure totally finish porting, with a working sim card that can call/sms, to avoid further frustration waiting in euque. If still halfway pending clearance from telco or pending administrative, then may get stuck also to get the iPhone4 at the launching.

Just imagine like bank-in cheque, doesn't mean you can withdraw cash from ATM immediately or the next day. You need to wait 2 days for it to fully clear.

QUOTE(echoesian @ Sep 22 2010, 05:21 PM)
Why can't they switch hotlink to postpaid and settle the iPhone on that day itself? Do I really need to convert it to postpaid with a plan first before this Friday?
*
No one says you can or cannot do all of it on the same day. However, just imagine, the launch itself will be crazy/busy with all prospects to sign up for the packages. What do you think those additional work for them to convert prepaid->postpaid or port from other telcos ? Maxis management may on the spot make it exclusive and say, "No, sorry. Here is only for postpaid. If convert, please goto normal maxis service counter. This event is ONLY for postpaid + iPhone4"

How would you feel ? Blood start boiling ? Frust ? Raise voice ? Argue with them ?

What I am suggesting is make life easier for maxis, other people and you, at the event itself. However, it may inconvenient you earlier to settle all those porting.

for me , im a prepaid user n will convert to postpaid ivalue plan on tat day itself ...
cause at the booking page can choose i wan to register a new maxis number with description of Any Maxis and Hotlink subscriber can register for a new Maxis number and when move forward to step two i untick the I want apply for new number ... then when the confirmation come out it will show the request type is retain number ...

so i think should be able to convert from prepaid to ivalue plan on the spot,  of coz will take more time ...

this is wat i think la , just to comfort myself   tongue.gif
*
So, make sure don't hold up the line if the CS says no, ok ? icon_rolleyes.gif Don't argue like old uncle/auntie making a big commotion for being a datuk or spend thousands every month on maxis bill with hundreds of lines or being linked to AK or know who-and-who.

I'm sure everyone would like the queue to move fast and smooth. Everyone don't want to wait few hours for it. Nor do we want to see people throw tantrums like a lady who didn't get her food or the closed boarding gate (youtube) tongue.gif

i have a question from one of my friend! he is under 18 but in the booking his ic he put 1992 which is 18.. and everything else is fine and he plan to tell them that he key in the wrong ic number but he bring along his dad so do u think Maxis will entertain him? i've advise him alot of time but he still doesnt listen any suggestion in this case? smile.gif
*
Well, for a stubborn person, let it be. Most likely, in the end, the principal line will register to his dad's name. If cannot, then we start recording video of people throwing tantrums, rolling on the floor, and post in youtube. thumbup.gif

Yeah.. so i got my father to attend the event with my on Sat morning.. lol.. like u say.. reallly want to reduce all the probs.. its not fun to wait 4 hours there, then they tell me, this cannot that cannot..

*hope to see u guys updating photos holding the iphone at the event*

can't go on Friday.. sad.gif
*
Yeah, for those attending 10am-2pm, 2pm-6pm sessions, I suggest to get a queue number, then ask the CS politely roughly need to wait how long.

Then go for coffee break/lunch, enjoy first and come back later (but not too late tongue.gif )

Or ask your parents/principal line go shopping/walk around, while you wait. When nearly reach your queue number, make a call and ask them come back.

The Gardens event is mainly for people opting for postpaid and to sign up contract plan. For those not interest to be postpaid+contract, I suggest to get it later after 27th Sep. E.g. you wish to stick with prepaid, or you wish to retain value plan RM30, or you just want to buy the phone outright.

Anyone know whether maxis provide up to date bandwidth usage on their web site? so it's easy for us to monitor the usage.
*
I've been on maxis unlimited data plan for ages (started at RM120/mth many years ago, then only drop to RM99 unlimited, and then change to RM99 3GB now), there is no way I can view my upload/download usage. doh.gif

It will be very good if Maxis has this feature in the website.

It's really surprising maxis don't have this feature. I using Digi before. Got the counter in their OCS (online customer service).

Side track: (hope post not deleted, but just sharing with others)

I've been on DiGi unlimited data plan also smile.gif GPRS Unlimited Monthly Fees RM99

This is shown in my paper bill every month:
QUOTE
Your GPRS data unlimited usage made for this billing period is 1090xxxxx Byte

Yes, that is about 109MB, the time before YouTube or FB even existed. I used it mainly for work purpose to download emails using h/p as modem while on the go.

Yes you can. I've just finished my contract earlier this year, and I downgrade to RM50 plan. Later going to sign back contract and upgrade back to higher plan cost.

Maxis website doesn't show that prepaid user can get 16GB at RM2290 at all, without contract. By the way, I thought iPhone4 using the smaller SIM card, so how since I am prepaid user with the old big SIM card?
*
You can either request to change SIM at maxis centre for RM25, or use a SIM cutter to cut your SIM to micro-SIM.

Guys, need help..can my maxis blackberry data sim package/card can be use on maxis iphone?
*
Yes, you can. You will be utilizing the BB data plan for upload/download. The only disadvantage is you are not utilizing the BES/BIS server for email that comes with the BB package.

QUOTE(stacko @ Sep 29 2010, 05:32 PM)
OK, if paying RM25 for a microSIM, can I also keep the old SIM just in case needed or Maxis will take back? I guess both can be used at the same time?
*
For me, during the pre-launch, I request for a new micro-SIM and keep my existing SIM. Once the micro-SIM is activated by Maxis, the old SIM will be unusable (i.e. unable to connect to Maxis to make/receive calls/sms).

Only one active SIM per line at any moment (except certain special case, where you can have a data-line-only on another SIM)

QUOTE(toiletduck @ Sep 29 2010, 05:36 PM)
afternoon time got my I4 oledi @ tmn segar, woohoo.. yup, u need to pay RM25 for the microsim, the old sim card cannot function oledi... so next time if u wanna use back old sim card gonna go to maxis centre to apply again ~
*
No need. Get a SIM adapter. Something like a adapterfor micro-SD card, into a SD card. Or make one yourself based on SIM template (google it).

I guess most of you guys are buying off-right or at range of 2k-2.6k

Why not spend extra 300-400 to upgrade from 16gb to 32gb ? That's an additional of ~15% and you get double the disk space. You guys know iPhone memory is not expandable or plug-in memory cards.

If can't afford additional 300-400, what about the monthly data plan and usage ? WiFi all the time ? Why not get iPod Touch then ?

Just curious hmm.gif
