QUOTE(jloi @ Jan 20 2011, 04:38 PM) That is a good price as the usual retail for AP sets is RM 2200 to RM2300. PLease post the link of such a good deal - we could help you to verify its reliability. Buying AP sets - the importer source is very important in case of warranty issues. Some are brought in through a established local company ( which is a better choice) while some are just grey imports , example brought in by seller who went overseas. If the latter - then is not advisable as any warranty claims you will have a tough hurdle ahead Make sure is not US based sets as it cannot be use to make calls |

QUOTE(CELCOM.AXIATA @ Jan 20 2011, 11:38 AM) The other day, I saw an Ah Beng holding a Samsung Galaxy Tab like a folder while making a telephone call with it. He looked very business-like and 'busy' with his new toy. If he was using a bluetooth headset, its acceptable but a pair of headphones? haha..at least he use the bt handsfree. i did pick up a few calls with the loudspeaker...hahaha..That definitely pushed me towards the apple camp if that is the best Android can do. theres even this time when i was eating at some cafe..i dare not pick up a call..hahaha..its my 2nd line. QUOTE(turbocharged @ Jan 20 2011, 04:22 PM) to be frank, the only reason tab is so great, its due to the size agreed. i was using ipad for few months. 1. you need to carry a bag for it 2. need a leather case for better grip. i dont think i wanna carry a ipad around with a sling bag or stuff seriously, the TAB hard ware is great. they should let ppl know this can make phone call la. the moment i knew it can make phone call, it suddenly becomes an iphone killer ( to me la). lol. a combination of iphone and ipad. 7" is really good enough.. |

I would like to ask about. SGT battery life let's say compare to iPad , I am thinking to get another android tablet but my main concern is the battery life itself. I am very satisfied with iPad battery life I can say. With heavy usage for gaming and browsing I can get around 9 hours straight till 10% , how about SGT ?

My maxis package comes with a voice which I did not wan to waste. I dun wan to pair it to my regular iphone. That definitely pushed me towards the apple camp if that is the best Android can do. |

I don't see hitting it will be a problem. Based on my usage - browser, email, RSS, Tweeter, etc plus some youtubes watching it will exceed 7 hoursAdded on January 21, 2011, 9:53 pm QUOTE(noprob @ Jan 21 2011, 08:13 PM) It is very clear ; loud ??? up to one to judge and also dependent on the environment you are in. @benny888 so you are saying the battery usage for SGT and iPad are on the same level right? Thats pretty good if 7 hours batt life for heavy usage. My iPad has been serving me well though it has some limitation.
Added on January 21, 2011, 10:43 pm QUOTE(sphiroth @ Jan 21 2011, 09:56 PM) I own a nexus one running cyanogen rom with tons of widget running constantly , even with 3G turned off the battery life was horrible. The juice merely last me 4 hours with heavy usage. Even standby mode the battery drops at 3% rate per hours. Thats my only android experience but I see SGT is doing good in this aspect. I am thinking to get another tablet which can do more than iPad and SGT is one of my choice currently. The nexus one bringing a nightmare to me for android as I am kind of road warrior and not often has access to charging source. I don't really believe what Samsung claim whatsoever, I prefer some end user experience.May I ask how you define your " heavy " ? I doing a lot of multitasking , if running on android of course I will be sticking all my screen with widget ( hourly update ) like weather, news, twitter, fb, rss etc. I will be using it ALOT for browsing like 4 hours, watching flash video, IM like MSN and WhatsApp running. With also some gaming session let's say 2 hours. Actually I prefer Android over iOS but what attract me to iPad is the battery life actually. Your input are much appreciated This post has been edited by Reventon: Jan 21 2011, 10:43 PM |

My iPad has been serving me well though it has some limitation. Cannot compare with smartphones whose battery is about 1300 to 1500maH. The Tab is at 4000mah. Even though its screen estate is double that of most phones, its battery strength is more than double, close to three times. . If you just google you will read most web reviews gives very good comments on the Tab battery's life. Engadget example put it through a continuos video test at 65 % brightness with WiFi on recorded more than 6 hours . I have tested and noted that if you are not using it the screen display brightness tone it right done. I noticed by so doing my battery usage has improved by 20 to 30% from 11 pm to 7 am ( when I am not using it ). However background downloads are on. My typical settings for a whole 24 hour day:Added on January 21, 2011, 10:43 pm I own a nexus one running cyanogen rom with tons of widget running constantly , even with 3G turned off the battery life was horrible. With also some gaming session let's say 2 hours. Actually I prefer Android over iOS but what attract me to iPad is the battery life actually. Your input are much appreciated 4 email accounts : refresh/download every 15 minutes Weather : refresh every 4 hours News feed, Tweeter : Every 30 mins Phone calls - about 10/day and SMS about 20. No MMS Youtubes : Download and view - ranges 30 mins to an hour Music : NONE Browsing : About 2 hours/day ( mostly on 3 G ) as the places I go to usually no WiFi unlike KL ( mine small town). When at home, I use WiFi but seldom use it as I will use notebook/desktop With these at 7 am 100% charged , by 7 pm I still have about 10 to 20 % charge left. So I estimate if I use continously will exceed 7 hours before it dry up |
