@theWeird_Weird
yes, the NEX-3K comes with a 18-55mm lens while the NEX-3A comes with the 16mm pancake lens if you want both lenses, get the NEX-3D package |

Then it is super nice. Going to recommend my friend buy it |

albnok: so its not like QLV where is has a limit of minimum light to able to see? i am afraid of this only, our eye can see real dark alley with minimum light sources... i wonder what the sensor can read...
d4rkholeang3l: the calculation of TTL is very sophisticated. u dont have to worry a thing, because IMHO, its very accurate. preflash is a consistence power fired, it will not fire more powerful preflash when it detect low light. let me give u a more simple layman explanation. let say for EXAMPLE, that preflash is 1/16 to ease the explanation. when u use 1/16 power to fire direct, u get 100% of 1/16 on subject. hence the flash will fire only 1/16 power to lit up the subject. when u bounce 1/16 power, u get lost of 40%(example) power in bounce, hence u only get about 1/32(example) light on subject, what TTL does is, it increase the power from 1/16 to 1/8(example) to give back the light on subject. now, when u use a modifier (stofen or anything that diffuse the light by having something semi translucent, it take away more power then u think, up to 80%! (example)) hence with 1/16 power fire and left with 20% reaching the subject, the TTL detects it, and calculate it, fires 1/2 to compensate it. the modifier will not affect TTL calculation much, but a modifier does affect how much the power is used. so simple to say, comparing normally 1/16 power to 1/2, that is 3 times more power required, hence average of 600 shots(example), are down to 200 average shots *let me stress it again before someone quote me per quote. the pre flash do not fires at 1/16, it was solely used as an example to ease the explanation. jedi_master: thank for a nice review! the EVF is great i heard from many friend who tested it, but i would like to see it myself. but from my own understanding.... the EVF has higher resolution then the Nex/A33/55 LCD display! so if u cant even see pixels on the LCD< the EVF is far more sharper (unlike pass EVF with pixelatted effect). the iso test, cannot be used. because the iso6400 gain, increase the shutter speed drastically, under florescent lighting (they are green pulses lighting) u might capture the picture in the middle of a pulse at high speed, hence causing weird green tint and the WB somehow balance it back with yellow+magenta tint. the iso6400 and 12800 is not accountable for 64/128 iso test result. Deerc: I said "Handheld Twilight is a lot cleaner than if you set ISO manually."
Which I shall rephrase: There are two options - you can use: 1) Handheld Twilight 2) set ISO manually Handheld Twilight is a lot cleaner. Have you noticed? ISO6400 HHT is a lot cleaner than ISO1600 in regular A mode. So what's the big deal? It seems to clean up motion as well. Oh and of course, Handheld Twilight does not have AF in continuous shooting either! You can merge the 2 JPGs from 6 EV HDR and use a mask to combine them. I will copy the part of the image with HDR to cover moving people. For example: ![]() 6 EV HDR image. ![]() Regular "safe" JPG. ![]() Combined version. (On a side note, not directed to you or anybody here, I find it annoying that I have friends who confuse the words "than" and "then".) d4rkholeang3l: Yes correct, any light modifier will reduce how much light is going to the subject, and so more power must be used. Eh, ieR did the explanation for pre-flash... seems like the 'credit-wrong-person' bug was passed on to you also LOL. jedi_master: Thanks for the hands-on! I have to say it is very well done. I went on Thursday actually to Sony Style Times Square but have been busy. The coloration at higher ISOs is because Sony Style KLCC uses flourescent lighting, which flickers. You will always notice this at faster shutter speeds. Try shooting a 3 FPS burst at home with flourescent lights with ISO1600 and F1.8 and you'll see it. destfull: WAH very optimistic ah you! I'd say more like 85% of retail price. ieR: Well the A33/A55 like the NEX-3/NEX-5 and A550 in MF Check LV has a lot lower 'minimum light' fortunately. Your example is good! (Though of course, let's say bounce loses 50% then 1/16 going to 1/8 is exactly correct.) In your example, 87.5% would be right to get 1/2 equal in exposure. |
