I am also using Asus RT-N16 for pppoe and ap functions. works perfectly, coverage for wifi is good (at least better than airport extreme). No issues so far after a month of usage.

Now I need to buy a .1q manageable switch...any suggestion?

Costing & delivery information:
- Price is about SGD59 / RM140 EXCLUDE tax, now waiting for Soliton to reply with actual cost, will PM banking information to you guys this 2 days.
- If have to pay custom tax upon arrival, then the actual tax amount will be shared equally to all payable upon collection.
- Hopefully can complete payment process & place order by this week, target to receive next week.
- Self-collect at PJ area most likely around 1Utama or TheCurve, can fix a date go KL if necessary. [sorry I can't do individual delivery!]

Hi all,

Need help again. My pppoe connection keeps disconnecting. Have tested with Buffalo WHR-300N and DIR-615. Called TM and they said no connection was detected. Have also tried re-entering Unifi pwd in both router's admin panel but still doesn't work. This happened before and all TM did was replace the hUawei btu and dir-615 although they were working fine. A technician even said that the connection keep disconnecting because my id n pwd clashes with another user. Is that even possible??

Would appreciate if anyone who had similar problem can share their experience and how to solve this. Tq!

The disconnection with duplicate user/pass logins was added as a security feature during one of their upgrades a few months back. If someone else is using your user/pass, you will experience disconnections but I doubt this is your problem. If you suspect that this is the case however, you should ask them to change your PPPoE password for you.

It could be that someone has broken into the DIR-615 and extracted certain details from the unit to perform a duplicate logon (which is very easy to do). A lot of stupid things have been happening on the Unifi network these past two weeks so I wouldn't rule it out completely.

Hi Riz,

How does someone break into the DIR-615? The remote management enabled security issue and the firewall being disabled? Any other possibilities? Also, if I have disabled the remote management thing and enabled the firewall and also changed the DIR-615 password, will this totally prevent some remote attackers from trying to intrude into our router?

What about the BTU? Will disabling telnet and changing passwords help?

Another concern is, if in future the UniFi technician wants to configure our router/btu remotely and unable to, how can they proceed?

If TM wanna troubleshoot ur connection remotely, just re-enable TR-069 and Remote Management..

But better ask them to come over la...

I'm from Subang too. All were down since 7th Sept morning. BTU lights - auth & link blinking. Called the TM customer service but no one came to fix my problem. Yesterday i login to the Huawei BTU. Reset the thing and all back to normal after few minutes. Below is what i did.

Login to Huawei - username: telecomadmin & password: admintelecom
goto > Maintain > Device > Reset Tab

- Click Restore Default Configuration (wait for few seconds)
- Then click Reset Button. (wait for few minutes)
- Done

Just in case, please backup your configurations first.

Hi guys,

I understand that you guys have a limited bandwidth.
How do you guys monitor it in order not to go over the limit?
Was just wondering what kind of software you guys use cause here in Australia, my family have a 20gb limit. I'm scared I'm gonna go over it.
