QUOTE(billytong @ Sep 11 2010, 10:10 AM) WRVS4400N is ridiculous pricing. It is the same thing over RVS4000 but it cost so much extra, the difference is enough for you to get a decent wireless N router to convert into AP. RVS4000 not even N.... why not couple a mikrotek with an N router like tp link? it would cost less than that... we are just home users... dont need such an advanced router lol This post has been edited by kaspersky-fan: Sep 11 2010, 10:18 AM

QUOTE(yushin @ Sep 12 2010, 02:49 PM) No problem here. Subang airport area. VIP20 user. Using HP procurve 1700 for VLAN and Asus RTN16 router yushin, for your asus router, did you flash with dd-wrt or just remain with the bundled firmware? no direct vlan tagging for this router?

QUOTE(rizvanrp @ Sep 13 2010, 02:50 AM) The disconnection with duplicate user/pass logins was added as a security feature during one of their upgrades a few months back. If someone else is using your user/pass, you will experience disconnections but I doubt this is your problem. If you suspect that this is the case however, you should ask them to change your PPPoE password for you. It could be that someone has broken into the DIR-615 and extracted certain details from the unit to perform a duplicate logon (which is very easy to do). A lot of stupid things have been happening on the Unifi network these past two weeks so I wouldn't rule it out completely. Hi Riz, How does someone break into the DIR-615? The remote management enabled security issue and the firewall being disabled? Any other possibilities? Also, if I have disabled the remote management thing and enabled the firewall and also changed the DIR-615 password, will this totally prevent some remote attackers from trying to intrude into our router? What about the BTU? Will disabling telnet and changing passwords help? Another concern is, if in future the UniFi technician wants to configure our router/btu remotely and unable to, how can they proceed?

QUOTE(senthan @ Sep 13 2010, 08:25 AM) I'm from Subang too. All were down since 7th Sept morning. BTU lights - auth & link blinking. Called the TM customer service but no one came to fix my problem. Yesterday i login to the Huawei BTU. Reset the thing and all back to normal after few minutes. Below is what i did. Login to Huawei - username: telecomadmin & password: admintelecom goto > Maintain > Device > Reset Tab - Click Restore Default Configuration (wait for few seconds) - Then click Reset Button. (wait for few minutes) - Done Just in case, please backup your configurations first. i have a feeling some idiot hack into ure BTU and mess up your settings...

KLSEET & Riz bro! Thank you very much for the bulk order and wonderful guide respectively =) ! This little chap works real neat! ...
Just to clarify things up, I noticed its running 100Mbps instead of 1000Mbps from Riz's guide... My guess is im using the normal RJ45 cable ... so perhaps if i change it, it will work at 1000Mbps... just to inform everyone =P

QUOTE(konsama @ Nov 18 2010, 06:22 PM) Hi , i'm new user of VIP5 package starts today. Just realized my bank not supporting payment of the unifi bill yet (public bank). Guess i have to resort to posonline. Hope it's not troublesome when it comes. you can pay online using any visa/mastercard credit cards at https://occ.unifi.my/ Added on November 18, 2010, 8:44 pmQUOTE(aliftaufiq @ Nov 16 2010, 11:23 PM) After few months, both my BTU and router got fried due to lightning storm yesterday..but within 24 hour it been replaced...2 thumbs up I asked the technician and he told me that BTU is not lifetime warranty and there's no black n white about it..Is that true?? SIGH, same case... my BTU just died today..... just made a report. Hope they can replace it ASAP as well. What BTU are u using? the crappy black huawei BTU? Did they replace back with the exact BTU?
