oh lucky you guys!
but once tm exercises the cap limit, im sure you guys need to watch the bandwidth.
any ideas which software is good? and when will tm start using the cap limit?
*
A PC software tracking traffic may not be useful if you have more than one PC or other devices such as PDAs and phones also sharing the same internet connection.

I modified my router (A buffalo WHR-HP-G300N) with DD-WRT firmware and it has a really nice traffic graph:

http://www.simplehelp.net/2008/09/11/how-t...your-bandwidth/

I'm not sure if it can adjust itself for your billing date, but fortunately I got my unifi on the 1st ... 8-)

If I'm not into downloading any "content" that month my usage is usually around 30GB.

Just happened today: VOIP is out again after it was ok for a few days but my downloads are no longer corrupted. Hope it's permanently fixed.

Yeah, I'm in BRP Sungai Buloh, and my "acid test" of corrupted downloads went perfectly fine.

Wonder if this will last or just because there are fewer users online?
Daily test for the next week!

Don't think so. It was better on morning first day Raya but was back to usual corruption until today. Looks to be fixed to me for the time being.

The disconnection with duplicate user/pass logins was added as a security feature during one of their upgrades a few months back. If someone else is using your user/pass, you will experience disconnections but I doubt this is your problem. If you suspect that this is the case however, you should ask them to change your PPPoE password for you.
It could be that someone has broken into the DIR-615 and extracted certain details from the unit to perform a duplicate logon (which is very easy to do). A lot of stupid things have been happening on the Unifi network these past two weeks so I wouldn't rule it out completely.
*
I've already disabled the remote management and added the security features as per your guideline in unifi.athena.my, is it still possible that they can hack the DIR-615? Already logged a request asking them to change my PPPoE password. Hopefully this can happen soon though. sad.gif

Is there any way to tap into the Unifi network directly without the routers for the time being? Tried setting up dialup on my laptop but didn't work. Thanks for any help!

You will not be able to do a PPPoE dailup on your laptop without using a managed switch which supports VLAN Tagging.
If you have a spare router which supports DD-WRT, you could try using that as it supports VLAN tagging.

Something weird happened today......

When i reached home, my mother told me that IPTV was down since today morning.
The weird thing is when i was at work this morning, i suddenly managed to access my pc at home repeatedly using my phone from outside until evening.
This shouldn't happened as we know that DIR-615 failed to port forward.

However, while on my way home, i tried accessing again, it failed to connect already.
When i reach home, i noted that all IPTV and internet was down hence i thought the reason i can't connect is because of internet down.

I off and restart the BTU and DIR-615 ( this is the 1st time i reboot in 3 weeks after i gott Unifi service for the purpose of internet and IPTV were down) ; things back to normal now but not my remote access.

Still can't figure out how did this happen!!!

Can someone help me to explain why suddenly i can access my network connected PC remotely??? Is there any correlation with IPTV down??

For a short while i was so excited but now seems things are back to square one.

Can't wait to enable my port forwarding and regain freedom again.

You can follow prodigy's guide to set up the Huawei BTU to directly get online without DIR615.

Alex, you had yours setup on RB750G?

My RB750G is running fine with PPPoE over vlan500 with internet. However, the can't figure out the vlan600 for IPTV as there are many way to work on vlan with this unit (bridging, native chip switch..etc). My Dlink is dead, so i couldn't sniff the iptv packet that dlink is sending for me to figure out how the IPTV network should look like.

There is actually a GUI call webbox which is one of the better router config tool i've seen for RB750B. Infact, the web GUI allows you to download it straight off from the router itself (not internet).

RB750B is for those who would like a better control over their firewall rules. Indeed it is one helluva router, but no WiFi.

You can refer to this link http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1502636/+2000. wcewong had once share his setup for RB750G via Telnet command.

BTW, where you buy your RB750G? Landasan Teknologi at Kelana Jaya. How much is it?

I am currently re-using my 3years old Aztech WL830RT4, it is about RM45 only, not a powerful router, more like a basic router but even all that it is still more resilient than the 615 doh.gif

for RM200, u might wanna try Linksys brand routers or the TL-link ones. I cant give u any specific models as I never use all these.

General rule of thumb is most RJ45 WAN port router should work.

Thanks, billy.

Any other specific recommendations anyone?
