i prefer to subscribe unifi rather than maxis. my past experience with maxis was not really that good. lot of extra charges and everything.
im using streamyx since 2005 until 2011 and switch to unifi, i know maybe there is a lot of thing that make me unsatisfied mostly on the services. but actually they did solve all my problem as a user. they answer all my question without hypocrite. the bill are simple and transparent. before this im dealing with maxis, i cant even understand the bills, what kind of charges and how to calculate it. to many extra charges and when im asking them to explain. they keep pusing pusing.lolx.. so no more maxis in my life.lolx |

QUOTE(yclam5729 @ May 25 2012, 03:13 PM) Anyone or your friend use Maxis Fiber before? Major question: Can request for public IP and it can be easily done by dialing 123. No extra cost for this!1. Is the IP fixed? If fixed IP no good for File sharing. 2. Any restriction on P2P? I know unifi is not and super fast. If both ok I will go apply tonight and give up my 4Mbps Streamyx! Added on May 25, 2012, 11:44 pm QUOTE(godsgatecity @ May 25 2012, 05:10 PM) What info?!?!?!Added on May 25, 2012, 11:58 pm QUOTE(krel89 @ May 25 2012, 12:37 PM) i have already call TM twice FYI Money slowly seeping out of TM's pocket....either call is different answer.. 1st call they said it is under normal acc eventhought i am 1mb grad pack and not cool uni pack 2nd call they said it is under monthly*remaining month.. that also still make me pening which one is correct one???? Speed will be throttled? IF AND ONLY if quota is implemented, then yes, speed will be throttled, to 512kbps. That being said, there WON'T be extra charges of any sorts if you use extra. Instead, you speed will be throttled only Q2 I have a cool, funky modem that I want to use instead of the standard Thompson one given by Maxis. Is it possible? Yes, it is possible. Our only concern is you will accidentally mess up the cables (fibre optic is SENSITIVE) or the settings within. If you are IT savvy and know what you are doing, by all means, configure it according to your preference! :-) That being said, Thompson router is actually quite good, so for a start, I suggest you try it out first for some time before deciding to swap? Last but not least, I will be outstation for the weekend!!! So, no collection of reg forms for the weekend. Will only be able to do so on Monday onwards. Oh yeah, limited internet access too, so replies will only be at night. Enjoy your weekend!! This post has been edited by DrPitchard: May 26 2012, 12:08 AM |

I have a rather unique question about the package. Will it come with less clutters than Unifi? You know... BTU lah... Residential Gateway lah... Set-Top Box lah... I saw at my sister's house, very scarylah. with the cables twingling all around the TV. I hate the clutters so much and I don't need the IPTV at all. It's one of the reasons I'm sticking with Streamyx.
Since Maxis package doesn't have IPTV, so what exactly does it come with? WiFI modem, DECT phone, and...? Oh and 1 more question: is 10MB download and upload or download only? |

Somehow, I am having the 6Mbps package, and when I do speedtest, my UL always higher than my DL....Note that I am torrenting and my UL isn't low for a start, min 5.7 (NEVER LOWER THAN THAT) or 6+.... Maxis WILL have IPTV....REALLY soon..... |
