Not true actually. The agreement is such that it is a win-win for both parties.

As for value for money, Maxis has very good offers, such as the RM128 package for 4Mbps and RM158 for 6Mbps, with all the free calls to Maxis mobile numbers and other freebies

Nope, no such thing as RM25 for phone line access fee. It's just a flat rate of RM118 only and nothing else (assuming you make calls within the FREE minutes quota, which is hundreds of minutes!!!!)

Added on May 18, 2012, 7:50 pmRM500 for the termination fees for UniFi is indeed quite a lot. And yes, you would roughly need 16-17 months to cover that. That being said, you will now also get much FASTER speed, free calls to Maxis mobile numbers and BETTER line stability.

Also, there is NO registration fees too. And the installation fees of RM200, has been WAIVED till 30th June 2012. Same goes for the phone deposit of RM75, has been WAIVED till 30th June 2012.

In short, no upfront payment, and only start paying what you are getting (RM118/month) once the line is up and running.... :-)

Currently, there is no quota at the moment, so can use as much as you want! :-)
Installation depends on the residential type. If high rise, can be as quick as 30mins. For landed, as quick as 2 hours. The time stated is the maximum time taken, assuming it is really a big property (3 storey bungalow?) There will be some drilling to lay the fibre optic cables for landed, but for high rise, not neccessary.

No deposit actually.....also waived till 30 June 2012. Or not, the phone deposit fee would be RM75 for Malaysians and RM300 for non-Malaysians.

Yeap, loads of free calls to Maxis mobile numbers and also on the customers Maxis postpaid line itself... :-)

Unfortunately, that is not possible. The current TM phone line/number has to be terminated and upon registration of Maxis Fibre Home, a new number will be assigned. It will be a local area prefix number (etc: 03-XXXX XXXX) for Klang Valley area.

Yes, you would need to walk into the nearest TM Point to terminate UniFi and at the same time, apply for Maxis FTTH. Most of my customers apply such that the termination date coincides with the installation date of Maxis FTTH.
