QUOTE(hvaly @ Sep 10 2008, 11:08 PM) so is that true that 1:1 is better than 2:3 ratio ? any logic behind it ? Your pc running smoothly bcoz u oced the proc already, and better if you use 1:1. You can do some benches for the mem bench for other divider and see which one gives more bandwidth.is it necessary that i change to 667Mhz ? coz it seem that my pc running smoothly now |

Do i need to oc my proc to 500*9 ? XD |

QUOTE(Alienwarez @ Sep 11 2008, 05:08 PM) can u explain, which situation dont need 1:1....i'm still learning to oc...newbie here.hope otai like u can explain.. he just means that sometimes, 1:1 isnt the way to go.like lets say your rams arent that good, you need something to bump it up. or if you wanna run your rams at a higher speed, but you want your fsb to be lower. |

It depends on your preference and ram capabilities.
Preference If let say you only use 400 (FSB), your ram will run @ 800MHz 1:1. From here, if you want to overclock ram, you can use other divider. Ram Capabilities If you use 500(FSB), your ram will run @ 1000MHz++ on 333/800 Now, most of the ram can run more than 1000MHz. But if take for example, the ram cannot run more than 1000MHz. So you will forced to use 1:1 to lower down the ram speed. -pWs- |

and and...
if ur cpu is 1066, when u run @ stock -> 266fsb if u run 1:1 , ur ram runs ddr533 if u run 2:3 , ur ram runs ddr800 for above 2 case, (provided ram timings stay constant) run @ 2:3 , gives u more bandwidth on ram's read & copy as well as lower latency though fyi the write bottlenecks by nb, so it didn't increase proportionately with others. |
