the best practice is overclock via bios..

if u intend to oc higher, some features in cpu shall be disable to boost the capability of the processor

So i just play with the fsb will do right? Usually how long it needs to stress test using primetest95 to confirm is stable?

Added on April 7, 2009, 5:38 pmBtw what's the most stable speed can reach for q9550?

i dont know la bro

i use my own way to determined mine..
after the speed accquired(after OC), i run cpu test each 3dmark; 01, 03, 05, 06 & vantage
if fail either 1, i wont stable for sure. can go bios & re-do tweaking
if stable can proceed to prime95, select the mac cpu heat stress

Sure? Cause my rams are rated at 800mhz, and if set auto, it will push to 847mhz... thats another 47mhz load. Can my ram withstand it?

LOL.....It is more depend on ram speed and bining smile.gif
800mhz value ram, most of the one i test would do fine up to 960mhz cl5 or so
So ideal setting with value ram is a rather sad 400x8.5,5:6 divider,trd5-6 biggrin.gif
