QUOTE(IcEMoCHa @ Apr 6 2008, 05:15 PM) i put on my siggy bcuz i had played with it for a while the other day if im not wrong its 3.6ghz @ 1.36v(not sure) and load temp at around 55C... that proc is sold to my friend according to him its recomended not to push beyond 3.6ghz(8x400) as the voltage may cause degration like my old e8400 err i think u might calculate it wrongly here..8x400 only 3200mhz, the correct 1 should be 9x400 |

QUOTE(cstkl1 @ Apr 6 2008, 05:15 PM) yes the same mod works so, dya mean when i do the exact same mod, my q6600 by default has 1333FSB?actually its a mod for 65nm proc to make it 1333fsb.. then only some joker claimed it for 45nm.. when it was actually being done for 65nm all the long.. can use normal tape such the cheap selotape? QUOTE(remysix @ Apr 6 2008, 07:50 PM) yupe...as cst said, this has been around last year for the 65nm i.e. 1066 (266fsb) proc...by taping pin, the proc has a default fsb of 333, quadpumped to 1333fsb...45nm proc is bornt...so to speak la... after modded, does the q6600 overclock well than before? just want a confirmationbetter use a good one, if use cheapo selefon (spelling) tape, might have some 'air' after some time...might short other pins... btw, i also wanna know how does this q9450 fair against q6600...have been looking around lyp but found none (later found out that it has yet to be in MY shop hehee.. q9450 more worth it if it can promise to be clocked well at much lower vcore compare to kentsfield.. besides, those yorkkie has more cache than current kenny QUOTE(irenic @ Apr 6 2008, 08:10 PM) q9450 only has 8 multiplier.. thats why it's pretty hard to see people using it oc to 4ghz.. mainly bcoz of fsb limitation for quad proc on current board.. ya laaa, thats y i wonder how come 8x400 = 3600Mhz? QUOTE(Izwan898 @ Apr 12 2008, 07:43 PM) Is it?I'm afraid it's too high for 24/7 use...coz I heard those degradation and sort of things...anyway is it true the degradation thingy? How to know?Or is it juz a myth?Hmmm need Mythbusters to prove it I think... no prove marr, it just a theory btwif not mistaken, it only affected RAM(from my experience) well, been running mine Q6600 for 1/2 year already with 1.522v i dont think there is degration upon processor |

the best practice is overclock via bios..
if u intend to oc higher, some features in cpu shall be disable to boost the capability of the processor |

QUOTE(jimmylim85 @ Apr 7 2009, 05:36 PM) So i just play with the fsb will do right? Usually how long it needs to stress test using primetest95 to confirm is stable? i dont know la broAdded on April 7, 2009, 5:38 pmBtw what's the most stable speed can reach for q9550? i use my own way to determined mine.. after the speed accquired(after OC), i run cpu test each 3dmark; 01, 03, 05, 06 & vantage if fail either 1, i wont stable for sure. can go bios & re-do tweaking if stable can proceed to prime95, select the mac cpu heat stress |

QUOTE(BroJason @ Sep 18 2010, 10:44 PM) Just take note that the actual voltage during idle and load will defer. Voltage during load will be lesser than during idle. you can compare it yourself under the CPU-Z readings. You must be typo there? CPU load requires more voltage than idle.. My CPU-Z shown 1.18V while idle, it increase to 1.19V while running stress apps.. This post has been edited by gengstapo: Sep 19 2010, 10:28 AM |
