this was Ken Lee's reply when i asked him about it.
i'm assuming he is refering to comgateway's delivery (DHL).
*
No.. he's probably referring to USPS delivery (US postal service) which they use for international orders.

If you use comgateway, you need to tell Ken to deliver to the US address which the comgateway website gives you. In this case, GentechPC will ship using UPS since it is within USA. In my case, it took 4 days for UPS to deliver to comgateway.
Then you have to wait for comgateway to inform you they received it, then you pay comgateway, after which they will ship to you via DHL (4 days for me).
For me it took 11 days (incl weekend) from the time GentechPC shipped it out until it reached my door.

It is probably faster if you ask gentechpc to send directly to you via USPS, but its bit more expensive and there is risk of you not getting it delivered to your doorstep (either held up by poslaju or kastam)

i think the G53 itself has very good cooling (check out the youtube reviews). max CPU temperature was around 78C at load (100C maximum allowable temp for i7). I think the thermal paste is not necessary but it's free if you upgrade from stock processor, so why not? The paste will help cooling further, and help prolong your cpu's lifespan.

no probs man, just passing on the karma.
make sure you keep us updated on your quest tongue.gif

@JasonMania: For the G73jh models, many owners decided to repaste their GPU because of heat issues on the ATI Mobility 5870. But you are looking at G53 which houses a GTX460M, so no one really knows how the temp 'trends' will be. Anyway it's your call on this.

Do not re-paste unless you have temperature problems like the G73 owners. I have temperature problems with my unit and I re-pasted my GPU as well as my CPU with IC Diamond. If you want to re-paste your unit anyway, we are offering the service and you can PM me. I also have a tube of IC Diamond 7 for sale at RM 55. There is no difference in IC Diamond 7 & 24 except for the quantity you receive. The compound is the same for both wink.gif

You do not need to do that as every Asus notebooks carry 2 years international warranty. smile.gif Just send it to the service center.

The service center at Wisma SPS is surprisingly good. They will be replacing my LCD for me as I have dead pixels. You just need to keep them on their toes and you will get good service wink.gif tongue.gif

Hey guys, im planning to get a G53 or G73 as i just got my funding. biggrin.gif

Which one do you guys recommend to get? G53 or G73? I dont really carry my laptop around and even if i need to, i have my dying M1530.

Are there any heat issue with G73? How severe is it?

Also, which online store is the best place to get based on your experience? Mucro Asia or gentech PC?

The G73 is not really that mobile unless you are used to carrying around 7~10 KG in a backpack tongue.gif For the G73JH there is a 50-50% chance for heat problems but Gary from Asus Technical Division has assured us that the problem has been resolved at the factory and newer units shouldn't have this problem. The G73JW is very new and there are no reports yet about heating issues but I suspect Asus has learn from the problems that plagued the G73JH. Heat problem can be resolved easily by re-pasting wink.gif

Definitely GentechPC. I wouldn't touch Mucro Asia with a 1000ft pole. Check the previous thread, there are users who faced problem with their service. I'm not sure if anyone successfully purchased a unit from them but they gave terrible service to a few members in the original thread.

I thought 460 is slightly weaker than 5870?

Besides, is i7 720 enough for more processor intensive games?

Anyway, i'll give a thought about this. Probably get it around November after they iron out most of the problems.

I have seen the repasting process. It doesnt seem as easy as it seems, though.

So, i assume Gentech PC is much better then? Great, i could get the custom thermal paste and custom light for the WASD keys.

Thanks.

If you are going to get from GentechPC, make sure you get Ken Lee as your sales person. He has handled a lot of cases from Malaysia especially the members in this thread. Mention the TS name (Jeffrey) or mine (Mark) and he will know what to do. He should be able to ship orders to Malaysia now in his sleep, LMAO! tongue.gif

If you are wondering, no the both of us is not getting anything from him & Gentech except for friendship as we usually keep in touch, except me because I've been busy as heck till recently laugh.gif

Well, u can tell it from GTX 260m. It stood in the market for its outstanding performance. Assuming GTX 460m will do the same thing. But still i can't find any G73jw benchmark nor review yet. doh.gif

If u want less weigth smaller FHD screen go for G53.

PS: I'm expecting G53 to weight less than G73.

Definitely, G53 will weight much lesser, but im thinking of a large laptop this time round. Wont G73 have better cooling than G53 due to larger size?

Besides, how heavy is G73 if you take account of the adapter and so on?

i'm pretty much locked on the G53, i'm gonna wait for it to release and see if there are any common problems with the first batch. Hopefully, it's nothing major.

It's all depends on your preference whether you are leaned to size factor or not? 15" is easier for you to move around. Less weight for sure. laugh.gif It's your call though.

If you asked me which resellers I'm going to get my gaming notebook, I will certainly will order it from GenTechPC. Greatest CS I have ever received. icon_rolleyes.gif Just try to mention my name and Mark (Viperion) as Viperion had mentioned at previous post. He'll assist you as best as he can.

Oh yea, where do you plan to ship the notebook? Australia?
