I am sorry, might not in the right thread, but since we talk about CC, have you guys heard of EPP for CC. It's like there are companies that offers service on convert our CC outstanding into monthly payment with lower interest. Can get cash some more from the balance left.

Can it be trusted?
*
Hmm .. if you are referring to the services that converts yours purchase to EPP above RM500 value offered by the bank. Yes,it is. But if its other party who convert it for you - its better for you to check with the bank whether does this company exist in their approval list.

It might be illegal or worse its a scam.

I called SCB customer service last month to ask about GST waiver, he told me spend 3 transactions BEFORE anniversary & will credit 11k reward points so I can use it to redeem RM50 GST waiver. Last week I called again to confirm, this officer told me another story which I need to spend 3 transactions AFTER anniversary to entitle 11k reward points. I wonder which one is the reliable info. Anyone get the 11k rewards points before? Thanks.. smile.gif

What is the method of payment if card member opted to use flexi pay plan ? Pay online via Insuance Co's web site or CIMB's web site or must go to insurance company cashier counter to tell you want to flexi pay ? All Insurance companies accept CIMB flexi pay ?

Count OCBC Bank in. It will credit RM50 to your account on your anniversary month provided you have charged at least RM10,000 to your card in one year.

I believe you must charge the insurance policy to your CIMB CC first; meaning pay large sum to the insurance company.

Once the transaction appears in your statement, call CS to convert it to Smart Flexi Pay.

Same method goes to i.pay plan.

0% EPP CC payment requires different operating procedures on the CC terminal and the merchant must be equipped with terminal supplied by CIMB. ( That's the reason why you'll see Harvey Norman, Senq, Courts etc have so many terminals on it's cashier's counter) If it is a normal credit card payment transaction, CIMB is absorbing the interest cost by paying the the insurance company's banker in full after deducting the shared standard merchant discount rate and on the other hang allowing its own card member to pay by 12 interest free monthly installments ?

I believe CIMB/DA smart flexi plan is not equal to the 0% EPP.
A person has to call/sms to convert the transaction (insurance/education/hospital) to 10 months interest-free installment after the transaction posted.
The full amount of the transaction is billed but later on got offset (debit) by the same amount after the conversion. The transaction doesn't need special terminal like EPP needed.
CIMB is absorbing the potential return from smart flexi plan but they are "hoping" a credit card user not able to settle monthly installment in full.

What are you referring to is the installment programme created from the partnership between participating merchants and the bank. That's why it requires bank terminal and during the swipe, the cashier needs to select for easy payment plan/installment plan from the terminal itself.

Whereas, their another type of installment programme offered by the bank and you can convert any general swipe of large sum amount (subjected to min amount) into installment plan of certain period with one-time fee (like CIMB i.pay plan and CIMB SmartFlexi Pay) or low interest (like Maybank EasyPay Plus).

The method of transaction is not restricted. You can opt to swipe over the counter, or submit the appropriate form (consult your insurance agent) to the insurance company. When the transaction is posted, you may call the Card Centre and say you want convert the transaction (in this case, INSURANCE) into a flexi pay plan.

All Insurance companies accept CIMB flexi pay ?
As long as the insurance company accepts CIMB credit card, you may wish to apply for its flexi pay plan.

Standard Chartered Preferred Banking has finally arrived on our shore. Click HERE to find out more.

You'll need to place RM72,000 of deposit with them in order to open this account. Alternatively, you can also open this account by applying for the Preferred Banking World MasterCard using your payslip. The minimum required income is RM72,000/pa. Not exactly sure if this Preferred Banking World MasterCard is a complimentary card like its more prestigious cousin, the Priority Banking VISA Infinite. Anyone with more informations on this please let us know.

Thanks for the clarification.

So is it with one time fee or is it absolutely FREE as per ad below for Smart Flexi-Pay Plan ?
Smart Flexi can apply to over sea education fee as well ? Is there a loan limit ?

There's some cases that customer refuse to give info on the officer that initiate the call, worried that it might be some scammer asking for personal information. Moreover some people refuse to answer call from "Private number". So that's why they send you the SMS to call them back.

I Pay Plan (IPP) will come with one time interest, charged on the first month. For Smart Flexi Payment (FPP) , as long it is education, hospital or insurance, you can convert into the plan. Oversea education fee also can be converted into Smart Flexi as well. But to avoid any hassle, make sure there's a word "university" or "college" in the merchant description. Or else they will ask you to fax over the invoice. And yes, Smart Flexi is absolutely free.

Loan limit you mean as the maximum amount? For Flexi payment no maximum. Minimum is RM50. Even your insurance RM150 charged into your card also can convert into FPP.

For IPP, the maximum is RM 30k, minimum RM 500.

By the way in terms of "hospital bill", as far as I am concern is not applicable for optometrist and dental.
