Thinking about buying 16gb wifi tonite. I look forward to use it for my emailing, browsing, minor gaming, IM-ing,watching .avi tv series and store some picture albums. Here are my few concerns before buying, hope all you genius here will help me to answer:
1) Will iTunes compress the pics before transfering it from MacBook to iPad? (If not, i think 16gb is not enuf)
2) i read about IM+ is the best app for IM-ing. If i chose to use YM, does OS 3.2.2 support notification when i close the app?
3) Can the mail apps store more than 200 mails per acc? I love to have my email backup on iPad for offline viewing. (iphone only store 200 recent mails pop3 mail)

Thanks in advance!!
1) not sure bcos i nvr store pictures in ipad nor having a mac.
2) some said beejive while the rest are gravitating towards im+. Im using im+ lite(free version) and I will receive push notification for any messages i receive when i close the app. However, do note that for lite version the active time is only 2 hours and it also doesnt support skype. Also push notification of someone appearing online is possible as well on the im+ lite but you need to set it manually for every contact if you wish to see push notification for every contact. Not sure if the purchased version or beejive have similar problem. for me it is quite troublesome but you can access to internet while using im+ bcos there is a browser with im+ if you wish to see whoever online without closing the app.
3. I checked the setting, maximum is 200 emails only.

Thanks!! Yup when i sync the pictures to my iPhone, iTunes will compress it first then transfer. I hope it will do the same. If i want to buy 16GB wifi version, then i already use until 14gb, will it slow down the iPad? like normal hard disk drive, when almost full, computer become slow.. any ideas guys?
Downloading movies from zumocast requires only like 30 min for a 700mb rmvb movie. To me it's still ok, not really THAT time consuming. And u can watch it anywhere u wan after that. Just leave it there for download.

For me that is time consuming bcos it is much faster when i use usb cable to teansfer a file that big. Plus online streaming is kinda useless also. At first i tot i can stream the video even if my lappy is off. But when i figure out e pc must be on when i wanna stream online that seems a lil pointless bcos if the lappy is on i might as well watch it on my laptop.
I think u misunderstood what I said. For example, currently there's no way to watch rmvb on apps like cinexplayer or vlc player, the only way for me now to watch rmvb is by using zumocast.
So once I have downloaded the movie into zumocast, I can watch that movie without any connection or the needs to stream from my laptop. Meaning the movie is already in the iPad.

Oh ok, here is hoping that we can see vlc being perfected soon. Until then im gonna watch some shows om youtube.
If only we can stream videos from our pc even if they are off, then zumocast can be useful. Heck, even if they manage to make it dl the videos from our pc even if the app is close, im sold.

I use Air Video. From you Ipad you can stream to watch the Video ie. the PC must be on. But there is also a video converter option. From your Ipad select the Video you want to watch. Then from the options you can choose "convert" - this will instruct your PC Air Video Server program to convert for you. While converting you can also switch off your Ipad. The movie will be converted in your PC and later you can transfer the converted mp4 file to your Ipad. The conversion is fast - for a 350MB file it took around 10-15 mins.
So means you have to keep your Ipad connected to your PC? And the PC will stream the video and after that auto convert and load into the Ipad, even though the Ipad is swtiched off? Switch off or Sleep?

No after you select "convert" in Ipad you can switch it off or put to sleep. The instruction is sent to your PC Air Video program to convert it on the PC. After that you can sync this file to your IPad when you connect to it via the USB cable.

Hi zerko,
I have lot of movies in my external harddisk, and based on your experience using Air Video, can I assume this app will help me to sync to my Ipad? Thanks a lot.

Why don't you try yourself, air video is free. Use this only if you want your movies converted to apple approved formats. I don't think there is any faster option than airvideo I have mention earlier transfer thro iTunes is fast but you need use cinexplayer or vlc to play it

As mentioned by Benny888 you should download and try...
No App can "help me to sync to my Ipad?" . You still use Itunes. What Air Video does is 1 It streams Video in formats not recognised in Ipad from your PC to Ipad. This is "live conversion" both PC and Ipad must be on. 2 Another option is it can convert those Videos not recognised by Ipad in your PC. Then only you sync it to your Ipad.
