QUOTE(treason @ Nov 18 2010, 05:36 PM)
Just thought I'd share my Fiesta and Polo experience...

I test drove the Fiesta first.....It was nice, awesome specs on paper but to be honest the drive was nothing to shout about...fun and of course not underpowered in anyway...nice for an NA...has biggish rims and a pretty low stance..looks good...interior admittedly abit plasticky for me...the dots on the seats abit funky for my taste..haha..I liked it but in all honesty my mind was not blown...

Next I tried the Polo...I thought the interior while extremely simple was very classy and nice!!...I do wish it had at least USB input for the HU...features on paper really nothing to shout about..especially for rm110k! Rims were nothing like the ones we've been seeing on the Ads but acceptable to me.. But the drive, oh my gosh the drive...I loved every second of it...to me it felt like a continental car, (the fiesta felt in between a Jap and Conti I suppose) for some reason reminded me of a 320i. There is a HUGE difference in the acceleration compared to the fiesta..so so much more responsive and just pulls ahead...the DSG feels so much better to me too.....I had a grin on my face the whole time and it just felt right to me despite being so basic in features! ...I see everyone saying that the car is really small..it really isn't that badla..very comparable to my vios, except for a smaller boot of course...I sat both in the drivers seat and as a passenger...sufficient legroom..the fiesta was very acceptable (to me) as well....

At the end of the day, it is a B segment car and meant to be fun...if you really need the space and comfort there are much better choices out there..but if you are looking for something fun like me, you really have to give it a go.....

Great feedback. This is the reason the Polo has won so many awards, including the most recent Japanese Import COTY award.

On leather and fabric, I must be the oddball around here who prefers the fabric seats over full leather seats. Even on the Mk5 GTi's there were rare batches of Golf GTi's which came with 18's wheels, tartan fabric seats and sunroof which was really nice. With the MK6 GTi, the black leather seats, in the black interior doesn't seem right for some reason, and reminds me of the PU seat Taxi feel/look. The best type of seats in my opinion are those like on the B8 A4 S-Line, they use Alcantara and leather mix which is much nicer and supple, or even some of the CBU Brabus Mercs, has this softer feel of the seats (Suede/Alcantara mix with leather).

The Polo GTi only comes with GTi tartan fabric seats and no leather option. Yaay!

Congrats on the new ride! After driving it around, you will definitely see that it is a better choice in terms of drive quality over some of it's competitor!
the quality and handling is superb even its a lowest rank continental car. just want to ask u guys, why i cant lift up the wiper? the front bonnet is blocking it, its make difficult when washing the car sweat.gif

Jayworm..I think there is a way to move the wiper into straight position and lift the wiper..read the car manual, it should be there.

Cergaz is setting up a mod centre within their complex for oettinger. Thus that will be the official authorised mod centre for them. So i believe at that point.. warranty shudn't b an issue ...

oettinger is a dead brand as far as i know. its a company owned by APR LLC. So, that is what i hear.

yeah no electric seat. I too went for test drive yesterday. I like the dashboard design, very simple, well made and ergonomic. I can feel the car jerking, but during low rpm. Other than that, this car is excellent. Value for money.

i ordered mine - tornado red. coming next month. and i will mod my car, thats for sure!

Just sent in the car to Sierra Glow earlier, saw a red Mazda 2 that had undergone the treatment there. Looks absolutely gorgeous! Can't wait to see the results for the car when I get it back later biggrin.gif
