Hi guys,
It seems like some of you here is facing problem with RT-N13U. I guess it's our responsibility to look into this problem and rectify it at the 'end-user' level at this point of time. We are looking at various possibilities to solve this problem. One of the solution we are considering is replacing it to a different model. We are calculating the cost. At the mean time, i would appreciate those who are facing problem kindly PM me your details as per below. I'll get our Networking Product Manager to contact those who are facing problems with RT-N13U for solution ASAP.
I've send you PM too.

Thank you, Vergas. My setting is exactly like your. Did you set the time setting to reflect local time? The problem may have started when I adjusted it to reflect local time. Since yesterday, I left it to default - even though there was a message saying the time is incorrect or something like that but not disconnection so far for about 27 hours.

I also put 99999999 seconds for time idle for disconnection. Let's see how long it lasts without DC.

Thank again for the snapshots.
*
Yes I did set local time.

Anyway, something happen I don't really know, I just notice that the boot time is only 1 day now, so I guess my best record is around 10 plus days...

Thanks for being responsible. It is hard to find suppliers or outlets to shoulders responsibilities voluntaraly. Meanwhile, could you see if external devices such as MYBOOK LIVE can cause this problem.

I initital had MYBOOK LIVE page having same problem that the default homepage take forever to log in. WD actually aware this problem and told me to return them for replacements but now mybook live is working flawless. Just wondering if these two issues related.

It may well be problem related to factors. Maybe, the BTU unit causing the conflict. Long time ago when the TP Link USB wifi was introduced it wasn't working with my XP computer. After numerous email to TP Link they gave. it is later I discovered that I have to completely uninstall Zonealarm before installing the USB wifi. I then inform them how I solved the problem and now you can see they have updated their installation guide to uninstall both ZA and Kaspersky software.

ASUS is a reliable brand and I believe this is something that was not due to their incompetency. let,s hope for the best and mutual provide our feedback to solve the problem.

Yeah..let's hope so.
But I've observed that even if I use the router with a 3G dongle, the same is happening. At times even without any BTU or other WAN devices (I'm running the router as a hub/switch) it would hang. Today itself I've rebooted twice

klseet,
Does this firmware able to work with Maxis Home Fibre? Can the VLAN be changed by user?
Maxis using VLAN 621, VLAN821, VLAN822

Thanks.

RT-N16 ASUSWRT 3.0.0.3.78
Now available at ASUS official site !  smile.gif
http://www.asus.com/Networks/Wireless_Rout...RTN16/#download

Accordingly to source, the DM should be more stable compare to the beta 3.0.0.3.74
Already request, no news yet, RT-N56U likely  nod.gif
I'm "fighting" for the RT-N13U-B1, hope they will put the same UI & DM onto it to fully utilise the USB, also as the alternate option for those who can't afford the RT-N16 ....
May I know what's your actual transfer rate (MB/s)?

I personally don't trust those Mbps as advertised/shown, I always test it physically by copying huge file (at least few GB) from my NAS wirelessly.

For the RT-N16, so far I have no problem getting 8~8.8MB/s, from previous to the current new ASUSWRT firmware.  At this moment, the RT-N16 it's the highest I've ever tested so far on 2.4GHz spectrum, this ASUS device with Broadcom BCM47xx really powerful .... sweat.gif

Assuming you've clean flashed, try to check your wifi settings again, eg, keep channel at least 5 away from those closest wifi spot, Enable Burst, etc ....
I have no such issues, I setup the DM as follows:

Assign a TCP port for Torrenting, use higher port say 56789, PortForward it to the device's IP, say 192.168.1.1
[attachmentid=2596555]

BT setup, usually I prefer to set limit
[attachmentid=2596557]

no problem Torrenting, even a 15GB HD movie! (no download if poor seeding or no peers)
[attachmentid=2596558]
Again, try to clean flash again before setup:
http://klseet.com/index.php?option=com_con...id=84&Itemid=79
it should work just fine!
What are you trying to PortFoward?  And exactly how did you setup?  Pictures may help to understand better....

For those routers I've tested, including ASUS brand, I always setup some PortForward as I have couple of things running behind the router.  So far I have no issue on ASUS routers & firmwares.

You may refer the above PortForward for some idea.

testing the beta fw since 16th Jul 2012
Day1:
Right after upgrading the FW, need to reboot the router once, else unable to connect back to UniFi for Internet svc
Repeated file transfer, router slows down where transfer speed is about 1.xxMB/s
Tested with LINUX laptop, router hang when DHCP request came from the WiFi interface of the LINUX laptop
Total times rebooted: 3

Day2:
Continous use for normal downloading (not heavy, only 1 pc downloading)
Router hang again, rebooted. Normalize condition
Router went crazy again after about 8hrs, can't get IP (DHCP gone case) for LINUX laptop again
Total times rebooted: 2

Pls advise, don't seem like the FW is a fix

This happens to me as well, but I think its no big deal. Currently after 1 reboot, seems ok for 1 day and 2 hours. Let see if it can pass the 1 week test. smile.gif

Update Beta Firmware:-

Going strong more than 24 hours.... not a single reboot and good WIFI. (touch wood).

Meanwhile, try to power off everything overnight before upgrading firmware. Not sure if scientifically it makes any difference but superstitiously it is working for me...so far..(touch wood, again)

No joy or either surprise with the new released beta firmware. One of the router hang after almost two days operating. Will expect other routers outage by couple of days due to less download and less wireless devices connection.
In less a year, l have attempted ten try on beta or official firmware without getting the router operation normally (6 firmwares from klseet's site, 3 from lowyat's and 1 from Asus official site).

Same pattern when the router hang, all devices (computers, mobile phones, media player, & etc) connection are not reachable by ping. Just off the router, all devices are reachable.

ASUSmy kindly update us on how to resolve the problem of router hang.

I also had no problem for more than six or seven months with the first FW from KLSeet. Is this problem unique to UNIFI + ASUS or UNIFI +any router? But what causes it to refuse the default page login is still a mystery.

Recall that the first FW is stable but it does have issue on EzQOs bandwidth features. If will to switch back to dlink, very seldom it will hang. Only issues with dlink wireless performance is poor and constant download will slow down the performance. It will be normal for any devices that hang, it will not respond to your login or ping request but not causing other devices to loss it connection. Example: if router hang, l could not print the documents to a network printer or streaming video from a media server will cease to operate. Off the router without power on will get back your network operating. This is Mystery to me.
