Thank you for the reply.

After carefully read the instruction, and since his instruction to 'upgrade' the firmware is from the TP-link model, I would have thought that he suggested to flash with original firmware first with the Asus firmware restoration utility, and subsequently 'upgrade' the firmware with the above mentioned OpenWRT firmware from the Asus webUI page (under administration firmware upgrade option).

I will try to install the firmware again with the utility later and let you know the outcome.

You are welcome. Don't worry about bricking the router, personally i would said is it a-bit-that-hard to soft brick asus router as they comes with a restoration utility.

After you had flash the openwrt firmware via restoration utility, head to here:

http://www.klseet.com/index.php/tl-wr740n-...-a-install-luci

And look for this step:

QUOTE
Wait for at least 2 mins for the whole process to complete
After flashing, there is no webgui to access since the trunk build does not comes with any webgui

Launch PuTTY, choose Telnet mode to login to the device

This is the part you need to pay attention after you had successfully flash the openwrt firmware.

Hope to heard good news from you icon_rolleyes.gif

By now, I finally managed to set most of the stuff up with OpenWRT, with fast downloading speed etc. Just that despite the proper set up, I still cannot make the IPTV works.

Exactly. I double checked the setting, seems correct. One step I just want to ask you:

When I want to create a new service for IPTV, I clicked 'unmanaged' and then trying to save. But I will need to select a parameter as well, which I selected 'creates a bridge ...', and click VLAN interface eth0.600 as required.

I was asked to select one more item even before I proceed to physical setting. In which I selected VLAN eth0.600 also. Did you come across that too ? That step is the only step which was not mentioned at KLseet site.

ps: I was trying to set up port forwarding too, have you tried to do that ?

Hi xiuhan83, please make sure that the ISP profile under IPTV is applied. Make sure the modem is up and connected to the WAN at RT-N66U.

If it is still happen, please let us know what kind of error does it pop out when you set up the connection?

What is the firmware version you are using? You can try update it to the latest, you can download it from the below link.

Hi ww_lky, regarding the crashes issue when plug in the 500GB HDD on the router, you can try update the firmware to the latest and see still the problem or not.

http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLan...N16_3004260.zip

As for the YES USB broadband, we are still testing on it with our router, current model that we are testing on it was RT-N66U. Hope can finish testing for all the models that can support 3G/4G ASAP.

Thank you

Hi odin88, you can search this model by using the search function at the top right.

If you are facing difficulty searching the model at Malaysia website, you can always the global website

Thank you

Hello Guys,

I am quite new to Asus N Series. i am having RT-N12 C1 router and using it with unifi. Everything going well with the config. but i am a little unsure about the QoS. My goal is to set several devices in my network to have full speed and high priority. and i want it to be done by IP, not by port. i understand this model unable to set bandwidth limiter based on ip addressing. so i figured that I can at least work on the QoS itself.

this is how i setup currently but somehow i felt probably the entry can be simplified. see below for my current config.

Attached Image

the 2 field that in question are Source ip address and destination port. in my case i wanted to prioritize based on IP, so can i just simply fill up the source ip and leave out the destination port blank? anyone can confirm?

Hi dimenxion, you can leave the destination port blank. By doing so, the device with the IP/MAC will apply this feature with to all the Internet application.

Thank you

Hi mlan4, have you try do factory reset and redo the setting? If the problem still persist, do send the device for warranty as our networking device have 3 years warranty.

Thank you
