Asus, is there anyway to set up Strong VPN or HidemyAss VPN settings onto the Asus N56?
*
Hi Scotland007,

We do have router that can support this Hidemyass and StrongVPN, RT-N16 but they are using third party firmware dd-wrt. RT-N56 seen like unable to support the dd-wrt.

http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database

And we so far didn't have any feedback regarding this 2 VPN setting.

Here is how to access general VPN networks:
- set router WAN connection type as PPTP/L2TP according to suggestion from VPN provider
- setup a VPN connection directly on your PC/Androiad/iPad/iPhone according to suggestion from VPN provider

For setting up our router VPN, you can refer to the link below.

Hi danielang, currently we don't have router that can support multiple public IP. But for multiple NAT or one to one NAT, you can have a look at the below link.

Hi pisanq,

There is no phone port, it use LAN cable from the phone to connect to our LAN port 3 to use the VOIP.

Below is some link that you can refer.

If you don't want Thompson router, you can straight connect to LAN port 3.

We got user using this configuration also.

Sorry I forgot to inform my ONT is Alcatel not Huawei so I can't plug my phone cable to this ONT because I can't configure this ONT. My phone also don't have LAN cable. So how can I use my phone if I replace Thomson with this Asus router?

Hi pisanq,

If your phone don't have LAN port, then I am sorry to tell you that currently we don't have a router that can support VOID with phone cable if you want to replace the Thomson router.

Hi,

want to ask, i hv subscribe biz20 for office internet usage with 5 Public IPs. Can i use this RT-N66U to replace current DIR 615 router? Main concern is the configuration of Public IP.

Just need LAN route, no need wireless.

Btw, I'm more interest on RT-N12. Does anyone know is that RT-N12 has better performance than TM's DIR-615 in term of their hardware spec? because it seem like default TM 's dir-615 have better clock speed 384Mhz than Asus RT-N12(300 Mhz). Can anyone confirm this, not quite sure that is this consider as upgrade or degrade if buy for this asus router?

i was using the RT-n13u for a couple of months (was previously using dir-615). The product was not stable and crashes randomly. This even caused my IPTV to hang so many times, till the setup box died. Had to get a replacement $$$.

Contacted their supported center, but after they referred me here and there, they fianlly said there is nothing wrong with their product.

since the, have been using the DIR-615 (nearly a year now). Personally, using it was a waste of $ and time.

Hi jex-koi, have you try update the firmware? If you are still facing the problem even after updating the firmware, do send the unit for warranty as our router have 3 years warranty.

*
Hi Simon, may I know how you do the connection and the modem that you use previously is a modem router or it just a modem?

Thank you
