Hi Asusmy.
I am getting the RT-AC66U soon and just want a quick feedback on it's perfomances. I would like to know to since AC66U faster than N, is there any wifi adapter that on level with AC technology currently? If no, I would like to invest in EAN66. What do you think? One more, I have been having a problem with my 1 years old RT56U. I am currently on UnifiBiz5. I got like 7 peripherals connected simulataneously at normal time. 3 of them using 5mhz band. I streamed Netflix and hulu plus on my xbox and ipad too. The problem was, lately the connection got disconnected abruptly if I turn on my pc. e.g. should I am watching Netflix on xbox, I turn on the pc, the pc will never got connected to the internet. The indicator showed I am connected but I still can't open any browser. I need to restart the router then I got connection again. I also noticed that if my RT56U is not hot, it will perfomed faster. Kindly advise me should I step on my RT56U, because it's driving me mad lol. Thanks in advance. |

Does the rt56u support aicloud? Is there any difference in terms sharing data capabilities and mobile access between the 56u and the 66u? I'm trying to decide between these two devices (would much prefer the cost of the 56u). Both are fast and have great enough range for me so it's the data sharing and user friendliness that matter to me.
Thanks. I tried posting this question on the asus board earlier but got no responses so would be really excited for any help. |

As for the RT-N56U, below is the latest firmware forn the model and it is using the latest GUI ASUSWRT. http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLan...56U_3004260.zip After update the firmware, see it can help solve your problem or not. Hi heehee62, currently we only have 3 model that support AiCloud, that is RT-N16, RT-N66U and RT-AC66U. In term of data rate, 66U will be better for 2.4GHz. But for 66U, we got 2 model one is RT-N66U and another one is RT-AC66U. RT-AC66U will have better data rate for 5GHz but you need to have AC adapter too.Thanks. Hi heehee62, by using the AiCloud Smart Sync, you can sync one of your folder with a folder in the external storage drive. But to do so you will need to create an account at ASUS Webstorage. It is free for 5GB. And it also kept a copy of the file in the server also. Below is the link for the ASUS Webstorage. Thanks alot for your fast response ASUSmy. I didn't think I was ever going to find the answer to my previous question. https://www.asuswebstorage.com/navigate/log...e.com/navigate/ Thank you |

I have the N56 and have been having wifi issues on the latest firmware. Initially i had both the 2.4 and 5Ghz with the same wifi name. I would get slow downloads or even hangups when streaming apple tv or downloading apps on the iphone/ipad etc. I have the unifi 20MB connection.
I have since factory reset and separated the two frequencies to separate networks but still having issues. I have got the latest firmware and just a little frustrated after spending so much and what is seen as a top end router. Any set up tips with the unifi system to ensure all the settings are perfect in case i am missing something? |

There is 3rd party firmware which unlocks the router allowing you to install 3rd party media player and other things. Basically you just need to hack around and play with it. Trust me , stock firmwares may not offer much. This is why I prefer 3rd party firmwares - it gives me more options and a lot of improvement over stock asus firmware Thanks. I tried posting this question on the asus board earlier but got no responses so would be really excited for any help. |

RT-N56U use a Ralink chipset which even until now are not 3rd party firmware friendly, not tomato, dd-wrt or even openwrt. The only alternative i've seen for this model is padawan modified Asuswrt firmware.

Thanks a lot ASUSmy. Just Bought the RT-65U since the latest firmware supports aicloud.
Works great but I'm having difficulties syncing my files to my connected external hard drive. I was able to sync the files in my free 5 GB asus webstorage cloud to my external harddrive. But I'm not sure how to sync the files on my PCs to the external hard drive. The PCs show up in aicloud. But right clicking on the folders/drives doesn't seem to do anything and I can't find anything that will allow me to "sync" the files. I'm also having troubles with networking to my connected Canon Inkjet ip1800 printer. The printer shows up on my asuswrt and I can print from one of my computers (the one I set up the router with). But for some reason, none of my other PCs seem to be able to access the drive. I have windows vista, windows 8, windows 7, and windows 7 starter (netbook) on my computers. Do you or anyone else here have any suggestions on my above two issues? I tried calling ASUS support but they couldn't help me with aicloud and wouldn't help me with my printer issue. Thanks. |
