Everybody here telling about Samsung having a great display and powerGPU; Desire having a polish UI etc..

But, is the usable memory (ROM) is important factor too? I'm in midst of purchasing one but Desire usable rom memory (147++MB) is a bit let off from SGS... Anyone can share info on this?

Gaming wise iPhone 4 wins due to large app store.
Net surfing and PDF reading wise Galaxy S wins due to large screen size.

I'm planning to get xperia x10, but what u said scares me a bit. does that mean SE is not good/has many lacking?

iphone4 is good but maintenance cost is expensive...
my nexus one all application is free (even those need to paid one...also free)

galaxy s has great internal memory and excellent screen...

btw...remember to get android 2.2 upgrade...it will make yr android phone 5x faster (no cheat)

+ more drawback of X10, it is said that X10 cant & will never support multi touch due to hardware & software issues...

I was at a dealer comparing desire and samsung galaxy s. His advice is to take desire coz it will be able to run on Android 3.0 next time coz HTC has some licensing agreement with Google whilst Samsung does not. So the max galaxy can run is 2.2 unless u upgrade by urself. any truth in what the dealer claimed?

change battery is expensive(after 2 yrs you must change battery as battery don't last 4ever), change screen also expensive(in case you dropped too high), accessories also expensive(if you lost your cable etc...)

I don't suggest iphone 4, i suggest ipod touch 4, it's WWAAAAYYYYY cheaper

i honestly have no idea, but samsung is supposedly wanting to change their ways, and become better with the galaxy S.. so we really wont know.. but i tink the galaxy S will get 3.0 altho might take longer than the desire..

but i juz got my galaxy S and honestly i have no regrets what so ever.. ive played with the desire, and its a really really nice fone, but the galaxy juz catches you with its stunning display and smooth gaming capability..

but if u want to choose between these two fones, i suggest u go test both fones out.. ur decision should be based on what you will use ur fone for.. and also on personal preference..

HTC Desire or Motorola Droid/Milestone or Samsung Galaxy?

I saw the 3D games showdown and all Snapdragon processors got THRASHED. The only thing Desire is better in my point of view is the HTC Sense UI. I don't see any other reasons not to get the Galaxy.

Any recommendations guys?

in other case, Milestone 2 announced at UK, will release this Q4, asian countries prolly next year then..

In terms of gaming.. The galaxy s is currently the best. Then comes the droid x.. But tats not available in malaysia.. So the next best wud be the milestone xt720.. But the galaxy s does much better in terms of graphics and gaming..
The desire is nice because it already has android 2.2 and i tink sense is really nice.. But the galaxy s is really an awesome fone.. I juz bought mine last week and im sending this msg thru my galaxy s.. Oh yea.. And the screen on this fone is fantastic..

Oh and the galaxy s also supports true multitouch.. 5 points multitouch.. Unlike thr desire which has only 2.. But both are great fones.. I just personally prefer the galaxy s after trying both fones out

But if u want a physical qwerty keyboard on the fone then theres currently only thr milestone.. Or u can wait till beginning next year and get the milestone 2.. All these 3 fones are great. The milestone series have a larger and higher resolution screen.. But somehow i prefer the legend.. Dunno why?

The best fone for 3d gaming wud be the galaxy s tho.. But its waaaaayyy above ur budget.. But since ur budget a bit low. I say get the milestone xt720..

I would suggest the Motorola Milestone, not the XT720 mind you, since your criteria listed a keyboard. The only thing the XT720 is better than the Milestone is the 8MP camera with Xenon flash. The rest is similar to that on the Milestone. 3D games performance on the Milestone is alright, though you should expect the said games to perform at 20FPS.

You can get a 2nd hand Milestone for around RM1200.

you forgot xt720 has a hdmi port and the cpu speed is higher than milestone
