1. Brand. Preferably HTC
2. Budget. RM1.5k
3. Specs. Android 2.1 or above
4. What you need in the phone.  Smooth UI (as if not laggy) good browser, can play flash content(FB Games), can gaming sometimes..
*
Currently I think you are out of luck (especially asking for Flash content). The nearest thing that could fit your request is the HTC Legend (RM1600~ AP).

To be honest I don't see how will people enjoy FB games on such small screens.

Ontopic:

Well there are lots of other games in the Android Market just waiting for you to explore.

There's Abduction, Mazeoid, Paper Toss, Milky-Milky, and lots of other casual Android games.

Technically, yes, you could.

I think if you log in to the desktop version of Facebook using default browser and, provided if you have Froyo and Flash installed, you can play flash games.

I haven't tried it, but it should work.

Well that's a tough one.

I guess stats-wise the Galaxy S wins over the Desire, but the fanbase is smaller.

Desire-wise, the fanbase is larger (more custom ROMs).

So if you are already an expert in the Android field (knows what about rooting, bootloaders, ROMs, SPLs, blablabla) then I suggest the Desire. If you are new I'd go for the Galaxy S.

One more thing the Galaxy S' user interface is worse than the Desire's. TouchWiz is just pure awful.

Go for the Wildfire. If you go for the X10 you'll soon regret the tiny screen size. Makes browsing a pain.

The HTC Wildfire is a good entry level Android device.

1. Brand:-HTC/Motorola/Samsung.
2. Budget:-none but will go for the cheapest option that meets my requirements
3. Specs:-Wi-fi, expandable memory, OS upgradable to Froyo
4. highly hackable, GPS, smooth e-book/pdf reading, probably no gaming, some emailing, net surfing for information while travelling, Chinese handwriting recognition app

Basically, looking for a phone plus a glorified GPS device in normal use. Smooth e-book/pdf reading and net surfing when I travel and need to search for some info.

HTC and Samsung devices can both be easily rooted and have Froyo installed (albeit unofficially). IIRC both Samsung and HTC has promised a Froyo upgrade for most of its devices in 2010. So your choices would be numerous.

I recommend:

If you're tight on money: (RM1k)
HTC Wildfire

If you have some money to spend (RM 1.6K)
HTC Legend

If money is no object (>RM2k)
Nexus One
Samsung Galaxy S
HTC Desire

I do not recommend Motorola devices since they update cycle is so slow, coupled with locked bootloaders that prevents you from loading custom ROMs.

Gaming wise iPhone 4 wins due to large app store.
Net surfing and PDF reading wise Galaxy S wins due to large screen size.

I would suggest the Motorola Milestone, not the XT720 mind you, since your criteria listed a keyboard. The only thing the XT720 is better than the Milestone is the 8MP camera with Xenon flash. The rest is similar to that on the Milestone. 3D games performance on the Milestone is alright, though you should expect the said games to perform at 20FPS.

You can get a 2nd hand Milestone for around RM1200.

you forgot xt720 has a hdmi port and the cpu speed is higher than milestone rclxms.gif

No, the CPU speed is the same on our model. Although the specs claim 780Mhz, its actually 528Mhz.

Specs. Android capacitive touch 3.5" screen or bigger, very good camera
What you need in the phone -Sense UI

You can cancel out Motorola as a brand option. Sense UI isn't supported on Motorola sets unless hacked.

Which will be the best Android phone with physical keybaord in the market now?
Is Milestone good compare to others?
Thanks

Currently yes, the MS is the best Android phone with keyboard. However, once its going to get replaced by the HTC Desire Z which should arrive soon. Wait for the Desire Z.
