Change to good PSU is always recommended.
I think FSP Saga+ 450W PSU is more than enough for your friend already.

Also, there's a chance that it's not the PSU problem but the GPU itself.
Sometime, too low temperature isn't a good thing. Last time, I saw someone with a very low temperature Radeon HD5750 went RMA too. He got random BSOD or PC restart. LOL.

Thx 4 the feedback. Im still new regarding dis issue. I thought it's nt normal. bcuz my fren cant do gaming due the gpu stops responding and recovered (he encountered VPU error). is the psu nt giving enuf juice? he's using 450w cap ayam btw. so changing to better psu will solve the prob? thx again.

gpu stops responding and recovered error message might due to quite a number of reason. Just to make sure your driver is a clean installation and try to close down other application which is running at the background and give it a try by playing the game. If the error message is still occured, then you might need to try borrow PSU from your frens and try. 5670.

True as well. Try every software 1st before hardware.
Software Possibilities:
1.) Might due to DIRTY INSTALLATION of DRIVER(Please learn how to do CLEAN INSTALLATION).
2.) Might due to VIRUS(format PC needed).
3.) Might due to SYSTEM CORRUPTION(format PC needed).

Now a day, I lazy to tinker with problems related to softwares or system. If the problem occurs, I just format my PC. Save time. Finding the solution = take more time. doh.gif doh.gif

changing psu does not have concern with the GC temp.
as our brother said earlier, 50deg+ is very safe... you should see some old cards went up to 80deg.
If your machine keep on hang, or auto shutdown, it might be your PSU. rclxms.gif

it's nothing to do with lower temp..
voltage supply not suitable and not optimize the ram..
that's actually lower the temp on ur eyes..

leyley,
what's the graph for?
i'm asking Maxieos is he need gpu for gaming or just HT setup..

that's the best for low power/heat 4series.. which have s-video out..
but if the budget permit.. just grab 4870 and downclock as i did..
gaming also still strong.. and i can put aside 5series gpu till now..

Just for reference. But too bad I can't find any comparison between 4670 & 4870 against the 4770. Wanted to know the differences on 3DMark Vantage as well.

Means I have to RMA already. It only happens at gaming and failed to pass Furmark Stability Test. sad.gif

I've already install latest driver n try old driver as well.
i do think its the psu itself since we use en7200gs no prob play dota @ high. but if 5670, even during countdown also hang. so dizzy figuring dis out.
i only scared after changing psu, problem still persist. if the gpu faulty, kinda difficult to claim warrnty as he live in penang. owh ya 4got to mention, he do try set the graphic to low @ 1024x768 (dota), n yeah he can play for about 1 hour n above b4 received the error. if play games in high setting n resolution, does it stress the gpu n nids extra voltage 4 operation?

maybe phase out edy..
i think for that range just live with 3870..
and make the fan @ 40%..
the temp is normal and nothing to worry about..
if not... sure cannot survive until now..

other 4 series just slightly better on power consumption and heat management than 3 series..
unless ur moving to 5series.. which not possible if u need the s-video badly..

better still just buy a new lcd/plasma tv and connect through dvi/hdmi..
