QUOTE(weikee @ Apr 1 2013, 10:15 AM) You saying 80% brighter than normal T5? You mean it produce 5220 Lumens? If so I would like one for testing. I've actually tested out with an Osram T5 28W, side-by-side, same colour temperature(3000K)...but not much brighter than what was claimed....I didn't test with a lux meter though, but from bare eyes, looks the same.

QUOTE(craftsnknots @ Apr 2 2013, 12:00 PM) I want to ask what sort of bulb I need to buy for my exterior fence and wall light? The bulb that came with it blew within a week when i only turn on 1hr for 3 days. I changed to Osram but that also blew..My electrician came and said because both top and bottom in covered, the bulb burnt easily. He said need to buy better bulb but didnt say what type or what brand or anything.. Can somebody tell me which type of bulb and brand they use if they have similar type of light or just recommend a bulb that I can try.. the screw head should be E27 type, as normally the wall light comes with that kind of lampholder size. but you should consider the spiral cfl, coz the up-down lamp fitting may not have much space for the normal cfl. since you mentioned the original is only the incandescent bulb, so you only have about roughly 3" of space.
this type comes in 5/8/12w. but I think you can use the 8w. here's the link which you can read some info: http://www.philips.com.my/c/energy-saving-...9689818312/prd/http://1net.com.my/product/home-users/lamp...ado-spiral-bulbavailable in most lighting shops, or electrical shops. LED light does not produce UV leh... so the plants still can photosynthesise?
Being in the business what I can say is just don't go for price on the LED products. And not all china LED is no good. The pricey ones are reliable, but then ppl will say why u spend so much for china product. But really please get a good, reliable LED otherwise you will be saying LED sux and not worth the change. It is worth it but the product needs to last for more than one year...

But than like you say LED need to be reliable and brightness need to be maintain after one year of operation. I am more interested to the forumer who claim LED T5 is 80% brighter than normal T5. if that is really that bright it really possible to solve my aqua plant

I think Sylvania, and osram are related in the global. Not sure is the same Osram product they selling to you. If everything are original as claim price look good. Not sure of YET quality.
Osram have T5 1ft? From my last search usually they only bring in China unknow brand. The branded T2 usually 2ft, 3ft and 4ft.
