LED is the most energy efficient, but the initial cost to bought it is quite high. Energy saving bulbs are also energy efficient but not as efficient as LED, but its initial cost is cheap. Why dont you include T5 bulb in your listing? hmm.gif

hi all,
do also consider your usage pattern.

if you turn them on and off very often but duration is short, LED may be better as it lights up faster. LED has the disadvantage of having a lower lifespan for the same number of hours it is turned on.
on the other hand, if the application is used for hours every stretch, the energy-saving light will have an advantage in lasting longer.

Pendaflour is energy efficient as compared to normal filament bulb. It is even power saving compared to CFL lamp. On top of the chart is of course LED, higher than that is sun light. biggrin.gif

What is the brightness per watt? Lumens/watt

Sometime it look like good replacement, but when put into replacement the performance does not meet up. For new installation is easier, just put more lighting Source. Eg for normal cfl the area need 4 downlight, with led will need 6.

t4 and t5 flourescent tubes are differentiated by the diameter - t4=1/2", t5=5/8". The normal T8 flourescent tubes which we normally use is 1". See this site :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fluorescent-lamp_formats.
Nowadays, a lot of manufacturers are switching to T5 flourescent lamps for more energy efficiency(completes with electronic ballast fitting). T4 is being phased out coz there is no standard length, thus every manufacturers has their own specs. T5 lamps follows a certain specs, thus replacement is easy, just like the good ol' T8 smile.gif .
Now, everyone is switching to T5 LED, but we have to note that this is still at a premature stage, as there is no concrete tests that the LED is outright better in terms of efficiency and cost-savings than the T5 flourescent. Just have to remember that LED is high investment costs(for good brands), but whether the ROI is as good as the manufacturer claims, hmm.gif
Cheers...

The lumen for 9 w of LED downlight is 850lm which is a 20 w cfl bulb for 12 w of LED downlight the lumen is around 1100lm. it brighter than a PHILIPS tornado 24W chl bulb.

if you are somewhere around kajang, serdang, cyberjaya or kepong or kl, kedah(sungai Petani) we can meet up.

9W LED = 850lm and with that price, you can go beat philip already. Even better than the Philips LUXEON I am having.

I don't need any LED now, as my house already using CFL, and T5 which i find is much brighter than the LED I can afford during renovation.
