QUOTE(Eiraku @ Jul 19 2010, 10:44 PM) USB OTG no, not without extensive hardware mods. Even THEN it may very well not work. USB HOST, however, is on the way, as soon as the HEN project gets a good kernel coder to update the kernel modules needed for hostmode to work reliably. It already works for the devs, mind you, only not consistantly. Honestly, I'd take proper hostmode over OTG any day to begin with lol. OTG is sort of dumbed-down hostmode... for dumb devices. but our n900 is far from dumb.

Though, OTG is actually quite smart - I mean two USB slaves playing the chicken dance to see who gets to be host lol. Only problem is it's too smart for it's own good and requires some complex voodoo. I remember the days when I tried hard to get a USB host CF card for my Axim. And leered jealously at the Fujitsu Loox guys who have it built in.

QUOTE(chicaman @ Jul 19 2010, 11:21 PM) means pendrive can connect to n900? not yet, they are working on it. not nokia, but the community. in simple words, our n900 has the hardware but not the software/drivers for it

QUOTE(VeilSidex @ Jul 20 2010, 10:43 AM) anyway to disable the ambient light sensor for N900 just want the brightess to stay constant without auto adjust you can delve into mce... i only tried disabling keyboard light, and it works perfectly. haven't looked into screen brightness yet. Added on July 20, 2010, 11:23 amPS : anyone tried disabling start-up scripts from event.d ? i tried disabling about 5 items, mostly phone / sms / packet-data related stuff, because i only use it as a tablet (minus phone func) but i didnt notice any improvement in memory / cpu usage. haven't tried looking into init.d yet.
