What does Overclock (OC) means?

Overclocking is the process of running a computer component at a higher clock rate (more clock cycles per second) than it was designed for or was specified by the manufacturer, usually practiced by enthusiasts seeking an increase in the performance of their computers. Some purchase low-end computer components which they then overclock to higher clock rates, or overclock high-end components to attain levels of performance beyond the specified values. Others overclock outdated components to keep pace with new system requirements, rather than purchasing new hardware.[1]

People who overclock their components mainly focus their efforts on processors, video cards, motherboard chipsets, and random-access memory (RAM). It is done through manipulating the CPU multiplier and the motherboard's front side bus (FSB) clock rate until a maximum stable operating frequency is reached, although with the introduction of Intel's new X58 chipset and the Core i7 processor, the front side bus has been replaced with the QPI (Quick Path Interconnect); often this is called the Baseclock (BCLK). CPU multipliers, bus dividers, voltages, thermal loads, cooling techniques and several other factors such as individual semiconductor clock and thermal tolerances can affect it. Step 4 Extract the software you downloaded from step 1 and copy the following folders Drive,Maps,Res & SetupMobileMaps into the main directory of your mass storage


Step 5 The file you downloaded from step 2 extract and replace the MAPS folder in mass storage directory



Step 6 Download this file http://www.megaupload.com/?d=W2DZ4OEL then copy the sygic-galedo.install into your phone and run it from your nokia n900 file manager

Step 7 The file you copied SetupMobileMaps from step 4 run the installer using your nokia N900 file manager. After installation you notice threre will be an update for your sygic software

Step 8 Time for navigation go to MENU > MORE > Mobile maps 9 to run the sygic software
Step 9 Select Malaysia as map.It will request for your activation method. Make sure you purchased your license and you are good to go


If u are getting the map loaded error its because the map is at the wrong location or filename

I'll start with the easiest way to mod which is with OpenSSH/WinSCP.

1)Install OpenSSH from app manager
2)Remember to set password for root when asked.If you forgot follow these step.
i)Open X-Terminal
ii)Press "sudo gainroot"
iii)Press "passwd"
iv)Set your password & exit
3)Download WinSCP from http://winscp.net/eng/download.php#googtrans/it/es
4)In order to connect N900 & PC/Laptop you should know your phone IP address.It can be done with X-Terminal.
i)Open X-Terminal
ii)Press "sudo gainroot"
iii)Press "ifconfig"


IP address is the 1 highlighted.
5)Run WinSCP
6)Your hostname is your IP address,username is root & password is the 1 you just set.
7)When you press connect WinSCP should show 2 window now.
