But on homescreen u cant view it on potrait in default. Actually u can but u require 3rd party software.
Always remember its best u ask the user how the phone is not the seller. Because the job of the seller is to sell not recommend. Some of them dont even own them they just test them

to b official, only web browser, phone, dial pad and certain apps support landscape and portrait..other than tat most of d time is landscape..

i prefer browse web in landscape view, wider to read all text

@cloud8318, u cant blame those technician or seller to know everything. They simply do not have the time to learn all these stuff. Despite working hours is long and if they play with them all the time, BOSS will eff them up and down.

Well I did my training as trainee repair engineer at AXXX laptop brand service center. Sometimes when I have to go out and meet customer and answer them question regarding the specific software/hardware question. I cant answer all of them to be honest cause there are too many models and even same model have different specs and features, we as engineer dont really have time to play with and test with them to know everything because we are loaded with tons of repair and works to do.

So what I meant is instead of asking them, we are look for the answer by asking user who really own the device like what aspire2006 said. Even if they give the wrong info, we cant blame them and i dont think they want to give wrong info also

you can always update your APP MANAGER in N900 to search latest software or game..but dont expect that N900 have games somehow like iPhone own.. N900 only has simple game or an iota amount of intermediate game..No Asphalt, No FIFA, No high graphical game. because N900 is born for programming.. so if you expect to get nice game to play..hmm..iphone is the one suit to you....
By the way.. you can add three different repository to your N900 app manager to get more software but bear in mind that not all software is 100% safely tested..some might bricked up your phone.. i meet this criteria last time..my phone keep restart at reboot mode only.. so better PLAY SAFE on N900..hehe.. you can try those nice software which aspire2006 has listed them on first page.. by the way you find three repository detail on first page too.. hmm.. i think that phone booth fellow is not liar la.. aiyo.. pity him.. he just don't research deeper into N900(and yes! this N900 thread is totally useful for you and me and every N900 use here..let's cheers!).. and the price he give to you for N97 mini is quite cheap..maybe he feel N900 is not accepted by most people then he dont recommend you to use.. but if you find out the fun part of this phone you love it so much such as OC( no other phone can OC except N900.. you can show it off to your iPhone-fans friends..hehe) anyway..good luck to your decision.. be wise:)

iPhone/iPod Touch is like a PSP Touch with no game buttons. So yeah, there're tons of games on iPhone/iPod Touch and also the iPad, basically for the iOS.

If you're looking for a gaming/entartainment device + phone, iPhone is for you. Heck, they even have games that isn't available on PC or console. I think the NFS Shift is better than the PSP version. The only problem is, there is no buttons, shucks when you want to play manual transmission.
If you're looking for a REAL smartphone, you can basically forget about iPhone because it's not much of a smartphone, no where close to being Computer like.

If you want smartphone + good gaming capability, can opt for Android or Symbian or Windows Mobile. All these are good smartphones, have many games available and also have Garmin and/or PapaGo GPS.

N900 is a tablet phone, it's very flexible and computer like; It's very power and totally different from normal smartphones, it has REAL desktop unlike others with homescreen. So those that used to smatphone homescreen might not be able to understand somethings. The desktop is very flexible and allows lots of customization, there's no restriction like normal homescreen.
The main problem is the lack of support from Nokia, and Nokia didn't put much effort to get contract or companies to develop/port the games over to N900.
Most of the things are supported by the Community.
NFS Shift is way way better; it's so fun, the realism is also there, the rain, the windscreen crack and shatter, when you crash the effects, woah... and best of all... DRIFT-O~~~

Sure got, but no good GPS software especially for MY, and Nokia Maps is different with Symbian version, there is no voice-guided navigation, no saving of POI/locations, etc.

Currently, most people prefer Garmin or PapaGo.

Have GPS hardware or not is not really important, we can always buy bluetooth GPS receiver (which usually have better reception); The important is there is a good GPS software available.

Not sure if they will charge you if not Zitron set.
