no specific rules man, sometimes bounce on ceiling also not good idea, especially when it cast shadows under their eyes, nose and whatever.
it's really subjected to condition. |

Does this qualify as a strobist attempt?
I'm My Own Warrior ![]() PZ42X @1/4 Triggered w/ Phottix Aster, PP Not easy learning all these stuff considering I'm kiamsap dun wan buy umbrella. Was wondering where to post this coz there's a strobist thread already, but this seems to be the more active one, and ppl seem to equate flash photography = strobist. strobist is anything to do with 'recreate light' onto ur photo. even bounce flash mount on ur camera is consider strobist, just the most boring strobe method

hmm.. got a question, when would you use a softbox, V cards (strip light), or umbrella? they don't exactly produce the same result right? if anyone has the 3 above, care to share some outputs using them?

just got my sb 900 and dont know how to use the modes. T_T
read the manual but my understanding power seems to be very low. is there any links that can help me with this? already go to strobist, but i guess its for ameteur and above lol btw, noob question, whats the different flash at 14mm and flash at 200mm? flash at 200mm will be more powerful than 14mm? ttl in sb 900 is like auto mode in camera isn't? |

TTL is basically means auto
14mm is wide. and 200mm is snoot. if u shoot with a 18mm lens, and snoot the flash at 200mm... go try it, and learn the result |

Demb is good. actually, all in the market flash modifier are good. just that, u must learn how to use it to your advantage
i always shoot with built in bounce card. that all i need. |
