QUOTE(hyperbugger @ Jul 5 2010, 09:40 PM) Hey guys, sorry for asking such a basic question but I've searched everywhere and can't find an answer... I managed to get a free byond replacement for my Astro Max and the technician said that the byond requires double aerial cable or something and he gave me the option of drilling for the secondary cable or buying a signal compressor for RM300. The cabling for my astro was done 13 years ago and is really really long so I'll have to go for the converter option and I just want to know whether is he trying to screw me over because RM300 sounds suspiciously overpriced... Is there anywhere I can get that device and how much will it cause near Subang? Many many thanks in advance!! Keep up the awesome work guys!1 Stacker-De-stacker (SDS) Note: If you want to retain having only one surface-run cable or concealed cable when installing the Astro B.yond PVR box, you may opt for the stacker-destacker device at an ADDITIONAL cost of RM300 for each Astro B.yond PVR box installed. @hyperbugger the RM300 device is called stacker-destacker, at that price it is a steal, take it and run fast fast your 13 years old rg-6 cable however may need to be changed This post has been edited by neb: Jul 5 2010, 09:46 PM

Simply bc pvr has twin tuner. There have been more than a couple of times where kids and wife want to watch different shows at same time. Pus to go to a single tuner is even worse than my old AstroMax that could at least watch and record two different channels. I'll wait for the stacker destacker to come in. As-is not much difference from my old setup anyway. The few HD channels I can view are a 'bonus' anyway. QUOTE(eMKs @ Jul 5 2010, 05:34 PM) Why you still proceed with PVR installation when you knew that Stacker De-Stacker still not available? I guess it will still not solve unless Stacker De-Stacker is available or you need to lay another cable. If you don't want to drill your wall, you can use adhesive cable fastener or something like that. Not a tidy installation though, but you have no option. It's your call.

I have a problem with my byond + recording function; whenever I play back a recording or resume after pause, the video plays for a few minutes then freezes on a frame - the audio continues on. I have to press STOP and go to Live TV to break out of this Anyone have any idea how to fix this? hopefully without losing the recording of that GER v ARG match

Am using the ext WD drive. Called Astro and they went thru a few steps and unplug the USB and connect again but problem persist. They said first time they hearing of such problem!! Anyway they are supposed to send a tech to checkout the problem today. I had a whole episode of David Letterman with visual runnibg smoothly but no sound. Freezing is quite common and occ jamming too.

Anyone face this problem. Both HD channel. Others ok.

Wanna ask something, can i use my Byond decoder with old Astro dish? I dont see any difference with the old dish versus new dish, just the color only.

@rewlie yes your can use old dish with astro byond box
but watch out for the installation which share single dish with 2 decoders through splitter, it may interfere with SD channel reception
