I have one scenario here.
Let say I'm using Byond EHDD and record AXN HD, during a recording I switch to ESPN HD, what will happen to my recording? Is it fail or what?

Does anyone have any details on the device astro is selling so you don't need to lay 2 cables? I just did up my TV room and the sat cable is behind the fixed cabinet. I can't add another if I do choose to get the new box

if hv just called them... western digital AV passport and plug in to your b'yond box and call them... and pay them RM5.00/mth eternally.. thts all u need

true, is there any recorder that can accept HDMI as input?? then can record in HD....???

By the way, you can't remotely program your B.yond PVR or B.yond + HDD using the internet. That means if you forgot to do it at home, you better hope Astro repeats the broadcast. They should have put this feature in at launch.

My humble opinion,pls go for the PVR I think its better and less headache ! Why complicate the matter afterall xtra RM5 and we have less work to do

Dont confuse NOT Fox but FX HD ( I myself confused )  and its preview free for all I think! They are not the same pls note Fox is Fox Fx is Fx 

dat SDS device is only use if u want to use single cable from the dish to the decoder... else need to use 2 cables from dish to decoder for byond pvr...

I have B.yond as the 1st decoder and AstroMax as a second decoder (@RM 38 per month).
When I called Astro about upgrading the AstroMax to the B.yond PVR, they said:
1. no charge for the PVR (RM 300 waived)
2. no recording charge for 12 months (RM 10 per month waived)
BUT
3. need to pay additional RM 20 per month for the B.yond service on the 2nd decoder. WTF!
I am thinking of canceling my 2nd decoder (hardly watch) and sell off my AstroMax decoder?

just got byond installed yesterday..
1) the pq is great but the volume of the sd channels are so low even in full volume..is there any way to rectify it?
2) can I get 5.1 sound if I connect the HDMI cable directly from the decoder to my av receiver and then the receiver to my tv?
3) is anyone selling coaxial cable to optical cable converter here?

I had do that... but, when  I change the audio settings to DD.. it just quiet and nothing sound is produce, its just on HD ... My tv brands is Haier

noob question, from old decoder, we can set certain channel to be favourite channel and we can skip the non favourite channel when we activate the favourite menu (push 0 button)...however, how does this function works on b.yond...i already set several channel as favourite, but can't find the way to use that function...

Not sure about that but based on teh Bernama article, apart from Astro, 7 others were given the license to provide pay tv services. However, non of them (except TM of course) have started operation.

no you can't connect an external HDD to the PVR at the moment, why would you want to?
