aha wokay bro. take your time, not like we need it in rush blush.gif

enjoying Dx11 already? wub.gif

Phew. Err... so far just tried METRO 2033 in DX11 Mode which added much more details to texture and facial expressions. My other games like BFBC2 and BioShock 2 I don't see DX 11 Options so I just max out the current settings and AA.

The outlook I am not sure but vbios wise Asus haven't issue a new version yet. Sager, Msi already got fix for the power saving mode instead of locking the memory to 1000 and the gpu goin down to only 500. Some have tried manually editing their vbios with rbedit and manage to get ati overdrive and most important is less gsob or bsod or any od. Some report the memory voltage and gpu voltage is too low while others mention it's a memory batch problem. The HD 5780M is actually similiar to the previous desktop 5770 and 5870 series even the problems from desktop applies to the mobile. Reports mention it's a batch problem while others mention it's a vbios. My G73JH-A2 had no problem with the stock drivers but once I upgrade to the 10.5 random gsod occurs. It seems like if I just boot up the laptop and run games it will lock up but if I slowly surf web, let the laptop warm up then run games the problem won't occur.  rclxub.gif

Rumours is the gpu needs to warm up b4 goin into high performance mode.  shocking.gif

Thank god I haven't gotten any problems with the stock card. Only had an occurence when I OC'ed the card a bit higher than I should have but that was all. I will monitor this as I am using the 10.5 Catalyst drivers. I might revert back to 10.3 thou....

Sorry for the delay of the post. Got busy with assignments and exam coming soon. Here's the result

Nice. Finally a 5870 CF Configuration to compare with. The score is almost similar to Doc's vantage and he's running on the QUadCore system. There's lotsa potential to boost up your SCORE and your CPU score could be better even at stock. thumbup.gif But this is awesome enuff specs to satisfy us without even moving to the GTX 480M smile.gif rclxm9.gif flex.gif brows.gif

'PROBLEM' OF DELL'S ATi HD 5870

someone (in other forum and here also like Putochip123) said that Dell's HD5870 is not same and less performance than other HD5870 out there.

after some digging, i found out that is due to default undervolted setting that by factory.
but thanks God those claims is justified perfectly by 5150Joker from NBR.
so for whoever own HD5870 single or CrossFire, do keep update about next Catalyst to maximized your GPU performance! icon_idea.gif

Bro, there is another issue when using newer 10.5 or latest beta drivers, the performance is higher but the famous gsod, bsod, will happen as some mention it's related to ram chips. Certain ram when runnin at higher clock rate and higher voltage will result in blanking. The whole system is fine but just the gpu is in idle. I encounter this on my G73 as I can see the performance did increase from stock drivers, but intermitten blanking is very annoying. stock clock for the Asus G73 5870m is GPU 700 Memory 1000. But some members in NBR manage to fix this by running out of stock clocks, like goin for GPU 710 and memory 1020. I do believe the prob is with the memory chips as my gpu manage to go all the way to 820 while the memory is max at 1120. setting gpu to 800 and memory to 1100 gives very stable and solid performance. I really don't get it why stocks clock will have gsod. It could be the voltage for stocks is lower while overclocking it makes the bios supply more volts. rclxub.gif But using bios editor to check it didn't show any increase when usin other clocks.

Anyway those who are using 5870 or 5850 series just try to hold on, I am sure ATI or the manufacturer will release new vbios soon to fix the probs. The point is to wait for the fix which not all can stand it. sweat.gif

10.5 gives best performance but I think 10.1 or 10.3 is the most stable while some mention 10.4 is better. Try to monitor ur gpu and memory temps mine I think memory chips have sum bug, needs more voltage. sweat.gif

ok. waiting... tongue.gif
unless something happened to your M11x like Amino going through, maybe it possible...

but if you just want to trade in, sound impossible for me.
depend of hardwares availability.

but normally just around 2 weeks smile.gif

Just get a test on bootup time for M11x on OC and non OC. The results show

Non- Oc
[attachmentid=1623187]

OC
[attachmentid=1623189]

With OC sometime able to get less than 1minute with all the application on as usual. Not much different. smile.gif

Safe OC would be about 10-20% of stock clocks recommended by mobile gpu OCers.. Although able to do 30% on my 9600M GT ddr2 smile.gif

Yeah. NVidia System tools like what Putochips has said. You can prolly push ur clocks by 15% to be safe then move from there. Bench it with 3DMarks Vantage and post here kay? icon_rolleyes.gif
