'PROBLEM' OF DELL'S ATi HD 5870someone (in other forum and here also like Putochip123) said that Dell's HD5870 is not same and less performance than other HD5870 out there.
after some digging, i found out that is due to default undervolted setting that by factory.
but thanks God those claims is justified perfectly by
5150Joker from NBR.
so for whoever own HD5870 single or CrossFire, do keep update about next Catalyst to maximized your GPU performance!

Bro, there is another issue when using newer 10.5 or latest beta drivers, the performance is higher but the famous gsod, bsod, will happen as some mention it's related to ram chips. Certain ram when runnin at higher clock rate and higher voltage will result in blanking. The whole system is fine but just the gpu is in idle. I encounter this on my G73 as I can see the performance did increase from stock drivers, but intermitten blanking is very annoying. stock clock for the Asus G73 5870m is GPU 700 Memory 1000. But some members in NBR manage to fix this by running out of stock clocks, like goin for GPU 710 and memory 1020. I do believe the prob is with the memory chips as my gpu manage to go all the way to 820 while the memory is max at 1120. setting gpu to 800 and memory to 1100 gives very stable and solid performance. I really don't get it why stocks clock will have gsod. It could be the voltage for stocks is lower while overclocking it makes the bios supply more volts.

But using bios editor to check it didn't show any increase when usin other clocks.
Anyway those who are using 5870 or 5850 series just try to hold on, I am sure ATI or the manufacturer will release new vbios soon to fix the probs. The point is to wait for the fix which not all can stand it.

Phew. Err... so far just tried METRO 2033 in DX11 Mode which added much more details to texture and facial expressions. My other games like BFBC2 and BioShock 2 I don't see DX 11 Options so I just max out the current settings and AA.
Thank god I haven't gotten any problems with the stock card. Only had an occurence when I OC'ed the card a bit higher than I should have but that was all. I will monitor this as I am using the 10.5 Catalyst drivers. I might revert back to 10.3 thou....
Nice. Finally a 5870 CF Configuration to compare with. The score is almost similar to Doc's vantage and he's running on the QUadCore system. There's lotsa potential to boost up your SCORE and your CPU score could be better even at stock.

But this is awesome enuff specs to satisfy us without even moving to the GTX 480M

10.5 gives best performance but I think 10.1 or 10.3 is the most stable while some mention 10.4 is better. Try to monitor ur gpu and memory temps mine I think memory chips have sum bug, needs more voltage.
