QUOTE(jujx @ Jun 8 2010, 04:00 PM) just install different launcher Hmm... But what i was thinking is... can HTC Desire get the updates (froyo and gingerbread in the future) as soon as they released? What I know is because HTC have to update the Sense UI to make it compatible, so we usually get our updates slower. By removing the Sense UI (or installing a different launcher like what you said) can do this?

installing launcher will replace ur sense UI, means u can choose either launcher or sense UI. it's switchable

Locked means it's locked to certain network whereby you can't use except that particular network.

That means... let say if i use a custom rom... i will need to have to wait the rom to update to 2.2, then i can install the updated rom with 2.2, is that what you mean? Then what about i install the stock rom?

Then what about i install the stock rom? If you want to use a custom rom, you must root your phone first. Rooting will void your warranty. You can install the new update 2.2 by flashing the update zip file but before that you need to flash the stock rom first if you have earlier installed the custom rom. Check up over http://android.modaco.com/category/430/htc...ire-modaco-com/Here at this weblink you will learn how to root, install custom rom etc. Paul might builtup a zip file where you can flash directly without installing the stock rom. I haven't check this up yet. He did that for the nexus one

Well good news, they've restocked some Desires at KLCC today. So yea... for those who can't get them last week, can go check some time this week.
Roadshow ends today though. But you can always ask for a test model in their main office when the roadshow ends.
