wanna get some suggestion or recommendation

recently i just purchase the acer S243HL monitor..and use it with my dell SP2208WFP..and i must say..i reli dislike the color produce from the acer.. im tinkin..shud i sell off the acer and purchase another monitor *like the asus or samsung or the new benq led monitor* or shud i just sell it, save up xtra $$ and get the Dell U2410?

I just received the Dell U2410 by post. Gonna test it out, hopefully calibrate it by tonight, then write a review on it in the next few days.

So far so good although I'm not 100% impressed.

How much you got it for and how long is the warranty service for your unit?

Iinm, the u2410 and u2711 is the best IPS panel offered by Dell. Tried 30" but still think the u2711 is better~

i was considering 24" and 21.5" ST series from Dell and was very happy to get 21.5" due to the distance the monitor is away from me~ this distance will determine the quality of your viewing due to angels away from the centre making the sizes of objects skewed and colours fade (like white becoming beige and lower levels of brightness)~

for this distance, feel free to go to LYP to try out other monitors~ I advise u to request for face paced movies~ I tend to miss out the sides of the 21.5" if I sit 1 foot away and at about 1 1/2 feet away, it is the sweet spot for me as I don't like to miss out the edges during a movie~ also, due to pixel sizes when a screen becomes big (and resolution staying the same), I will say that it is not the bigger the better unless u have Full HD materials or use Windows most of the time (though even when using Windows, you may have to sit further away as compared to usual to see two ends of the screen at the same time, like for picture preview or icon search)~

please write a review if u are purchasing U series from Dell~ I'm interested to know how it fairs as well~

can someone clarify an optimum response time for lcd monitor? coz i'm kinda fell over to dell u2211h...

and got them to reply..
wow..they offered to pick up the LCD from my office.

I got a refurbished set so the warranty only lasts for 3 days. I got it for around RM 12xx.

I'm gonna hook up another monitor to do some comparisons now. I just calibrated it and the colors seem accurate enough. Overall I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase.

Do you own an UltraSharp panel yourself, gto87?

If everything goes well, I'm getting one next month, tempted after testing the u2711 at my brother's place. He has both 3008WFP and U2711, the colors are better in u2711 but I really love the 30" for it's size. ~

So how was your 24" bro~ Are you impressed with it now?

what is calibrated? should i calibrate my 2209wa??

Yeah, some... thing... like this... but I need more detail on the impression on the monitor panel itself, yeap~
Backlight bleeding test, important, whole dark room if possible, use blank screen saver + max brightness, contrast.
Of course you can take shot from different angle and see if the monitor stands up to the advertised 178 degree viewing angle.
Can also use some monitor color test program or any good tools to show the color accuracy

Yeah. I'm very impressed with the colors and the quality of the monitor. One of my best purchases so far.

It's a decent monitor. The glossy screen might serve you well when it comes to movies. Just make sure it's not sitting directly in front of sunlight.
